The world is still reeling from the loss of the beloved actor and co-star of Sex and the City , Willie Garson . On September 21st, 2021, Willie peacefully passed away while surrounded by his closest friends and family at the age of 57.
Since then, fans, friends, and former castmates have come together to collectively mourn and honor Willie’s memory. All except Sarah Jessica Parker , who admits that she’s still “not ready” to mourn Willie and admit that he’s gone.
Willie Garson was one of the most recognizable film and television stars throughout the ’90s/’00s.

Willie was known for his signature round glasses, nasally voice, and over-the-top personality. Over the course of his illustrious career, Willie appeared in hit TV shows like Friends as well as feature films such as Groundhog Day .
Of all the iconic roles Willie portrayed throughout the years, undoubtedly the one he was best known for was Stanford Blatch.
This was, of course, on HBO’s groundbreaking series Sex and the City .
On September 21st, 2021, Willie peacefully passed away after a private battle with pancreatic cancer.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the most deadly forms of the disease and is difficult to catch early on.
Very rarely do patients show symptoms and by the time they do — it’s often too late.

It isn’t known at this time when Willie was diagnosed, but sources have confirmed that he was indeed ill during filming for the forthcoming Sex and the City reboot.
Shortly after the news broke, former *Sex And The City* castmate Chris Noth (Big) shared this photo of Sarah Jessica Parker and Willie.

Chris was as shocked as the rest of the world and seemed at a loss for words. He captioned the photo “Willie” alongside two heart emojis. Sarah Jessica Parker saw the photo and thanked Chris in the comments for his post.
“Thank you dearest Chris,” Sarah began.
“I’m not ready yet. Xxx.”
It would appear that the pain of Willie’s passing is simply too much for Sarah to be able to process at this time — understandably so.
Kim Cattrall also shared a post about Willie via her Twitter account.
Given the somewhat sour history between Kim and the rest of the Sex and the City cast, many people were wondering as to whether or not she’d make a public comment regarding Willie’s passing.
It’s good to see that Kim was able to put her personal issues on hold and see the forest for the trees.

Clearly, Kim loved Willie very much — as did everyone who ever met him.
Cynthia Nixon shared her own touching story about how much Willie meant to her.
“So deeply, deeply sad we have lost @Willie.Garson,” Cynthia wrote. “We all loved him and adored working with him. He was endlessly funny on-screen and in real life.”
But of all the touching memorials, the words that hit home hardest came from Willie’s beloved son, Nathen.

“I love you so much papa,” Nathen confessed. “Rest In Peace and I’m so glad you got to share all your adventures with me and were able to accomplish so much. I’m so proud of you. I will always love you, but I think it’s time for you to go on an adventure of your own.”

Cynthia went on to talk about how Willie was always a shining light and a great source of friendship and laughter.
He conducted himself in a professional manner at all times, both on and off the screen.
Kristin Davis revealed that the first time she met Willie wasn’t on the set of *Sex And The City*.
“I first met Willie in 1995 on the spooky nighttime set of The X-Files ,” Kristin said. “He immediately made me laugh. Little did I know that we would have the joy of sharing Sex and the City + And Just Like That together.
Kristin simply couldn’t say enough good things about her dear friend.
She commended Willie for his commitment to being a single father, stating that nothing on this earth gave Willie more joy than being a dad.
