Kelly Osbourne has slammed those criticizing her weight loss, giving a harsh response to people unhappy with her new look.
Her mother spoke about it
Kelly’s mother, Sharon Osbourne, recently appeared on TV with British broadcaster Piers Morgan to talk about the aftermath of Ozzy Osbourne’s death.
Morgan showed an Instagram clip of Kelly during the interview where she was slamming critics for their comments on her weight loss.
She has since deleted the video
Kelly explained that her weight loss was due to struggling to eat after her father’s death in July.
“To the people who keep thinking they’re being funny and mean by writing comments like ‘Are you ill,’ or ‘Get off Ozempic, you don’t look right,’” she began in the since-deleted clip.
Kelly is struggling with the grief
“My dad just died, and I’m doing the best that I can, and the only thing I have to live for right now is my family,” she added.
“And I choose to share my content with you and share the happy side of my life not the miserable side of my life.”
She added two harsh words
Kelly added, “So to all those people, ‘f*** off.’”
Sharon quickly defended her daughter. “She’s right,” Sharon said. “She’s lost her daddy, she can’t eat right now,” the mother reiterated on the show.
Osbourne has been open about her struggles
Kelly Osbourne, 41, first became known as a 15-year-old through her family’s reality show The Obsournes.
She has long since been open about her struggles with weight and body image. In a May interview with People, she said that she’s received more hate for her appearance than anything else.
People often comment on her body
“I have been a drug addict, an alcoholic … I’ve been a complete mess, disrespectful to people, horrible — but I got more s*** for being fat than I did for anything else. It’s insane,” Osbourne told the outlet.
“You’ll never read an article about me that hasn’t got a comment about my weight.”
She said that the comments never change
Osbourne noted that the negative attention she receives was just as bad when she was heavier as it is now that she’s skinny.
“People [would] say, ‘You’re so pretty. Why don’t you just lose a little bit of weight, and then you’ll be the total package,’” she said.
It would affect her mental health
The mom to son Sid, 3, shared that the insults took a toll on her mental health. “I tried probably everything that there is out there, whether it be surgery, medication, diet and exercise,” she said.
“I got my mind where I needed it to be, and everything started to fall into place.”
