Need something to binge on Netflix this weekend? Might be worth taking a peek at this new medical drama that just dropped. People are already calling it “insanely addictive.”
Netflix is packed with stuff

Sometimes you just sit there scrolling forever, trying to pick something to chill with at the end of the day.
Right now, everyone’s talking about this medical drama set in Miami

This Netflix show follows the crew working at Maguire Medical Center, a Level 1 trauma hospital. And it gets intense…
The cast is stacked with familiar faces

The show has got a solid cast too: Willa Fitzgerald, Colin Woodell, Justina Machado, Chelsea Muirhead, Jack Bannon… a bunch of names you’ve probably seen around. The show’s called Pulse, and it gives you a behind-the-scenes look at life inside a trauma center.
If you’re a fan of Grey’s Anatomy or Scrubs, you’ll definitely love this one

Zoe Robyn, who created the show, told Tudum, “But if you were in the hospital — this is the one you would want to be in. You want to be in the care of these people.”
She explained that they really wanted the setup to feel real and relatable. Like, most of us spend a ton of time at work, it kinda becomes your main circle. And for people in medicine, it’s even more full-on. After talking to loads of doctors, the team saw just how intense and all-consuming that world is.
People who watched it are already demanding a second season

Even though the first season just dropped, some fans are already begging for more. One fan tweeted, “#pulse finished and I demand a second season immediately @netflix – Danny/Xander are ruining my life.”
Some people love it, but not everyone’s impressed

Some viewers are all in, calling it “insanely addictive”, but not everyone’s crazy about it. Pulse has a pretty average 50% score on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics giving it some mixed reviews.
Critics had some very mixed reactions

Michelle Martin from the London Evening Standard said, “Ultimately, Pulse is a show that you’ll start and finish in one weekend, but have forgotten by the next.”
But Sarabeth Pollock from What to Watch had a different take, writing, “Pulse deftly balances the organized chaos of a Level 1 trauma center with the complicated personal and professional lives of the people who work there, culminating in a satisfying and heart-pounding experience.”
