Celebrities, like the rest of us, are making the most of their time in quarantine. For musicians, this evidently means getting extra creative with their music videos!
Drake ‘s latest quarantine-style video, “Toosie Slide” went viral over the weekend, but fans can’t help but notice something off about his mansion — specifically, his couches?
Celebrities, they’re just like us!
And by “like us” I mean, they’re all stuck at home, baking banana bread, abusing Instagram live, and making TikTok videos.
It’s definitely not easy to isolate yourself from the rest of the world, but it is all in an effort to help a bad situation from getting worse.
The silver lining is that we have social media to keep us busy, and we’re being forced to think a little bit outside the box to keep ourselves entertained (and sane).
If you’re a musician, however, it’s forcing you to think outside the box to keep yourself AND your fans entertained.
I can only imagine that being doubly stressful!
Miley Cyrus, for instance, started a series called “Bright Minded” on Instagram, where she live-streams conversations with various celebrities.
So far, she has spoken to Demi Lovato, Ellen Degeneres, Selena Gomez, Bebe Rexha, Reese Witherspoon, Hilary Duff, Dua Lipa, and many more !
Madonna has been sharing something she calls: “Quarantine Diaries”.
In some of the videos she’s singing, in others, she’s talking, and in one she is typing on a typewriter while jazz music plays in the background?
It’s, um, interesting !
John Legend has been performing mini concerts from his living room.
It would be amazing to be married to someone who can sing as well as John Legend does! I’m a bit jealous of Chrissy rn, not gonna lie.
In fact, countless artists have been taking to Instagram live to share their own mini-concerts.
At least there has been no shortage of music during these strange and difficult times.
Drake, however, has opted to make a quarantine-style music video for his latest track, “Toosie Slide”, instead!
Naturally, it has taken over the Internet because, well, it’s Drake . Need I say more?
The video is set in his mansion.
He’s wearing all of his protective gear and following all of the safety recommendations — staying six feet apart from his videographer.
While the song is obviously catchy as h**l, eagle-eyed fans can’t help but notice something bizarre about Drake’s Toronto home.
As the camera tours around the mansion (which is gorgeous btw), we’re noticing that there is no shortage of seating options.
All that to say, Drake has WAY too many couches and chairs.
I get that he’s super famous and probably has parties all the time (well, not anymore).
But I’m pretty sure the last time I saw this many couches was at IKEA.
I mean, there aren’t just a ton of couches. There’s a ton of seating in general.
This kitchen could easily seat like, 30 people, by my count.
And this is just one room.
Most people probably have one or two couches at most.
Drake is not “most people”.
But d**n, how many couches and chairs does one individual need?!
Oh, and yes , the piano bench counts as a seat!
Surprise! Here’s another couch.
At this point, I’ve lost count of how many couches and chairs are featured in the “Toosie Slide” video.
It’s overwhelming, really.
I spy with my little eye… MORE SEATS.
This is his foyer. A place where people, generally speaking, do not spend much time.
How many people does Drake usually have sitting down, lounging in his foyer? Apparently, quite a few!
