She’d seen her a lot less this year
Recalling her last visit to Keaton, Sager said, “I saw her two or three weeks ago, and she was very thin,” adding, “She had lost so much weight.”
Sager said that she had seen Keaton less this year because the actress spent months in Palm Springs following the California wildfires in January.
Keaton lost a lot of weight ahead of her death
“She had to go to Palm Springs because her house had been damaged inside, and they had to clean everything,” Sager said.
“She was down there for a while, and when she came back, I was kind of stunned by how much weight she’d lost.”

Sager praised Keaton for her upbeat energy

The pair worked together on First Christmas, a song that was released in November 2024, which was also co-written and produced by Jonas Myrin.
Sager shared that Keaton was happy with the creation
“She so loved recording this song,” Sager told the outlet, adding, “She was almost childlike about it.”
“She was so authentic when she sang it, I mean, she just sang it like she was singing it, and she was sort of acting it, you know, because she is a great actress. And then she’d start to cry when she was singing it. But she did such a beautiful job.”
The songwriter also loved Keaton’s style
Opening up about how she admired Keaton’s style, Sager heartwarmingly shared how Keaton wouldn’t waste an opportunity to put together an impressive outfit.
