There’s hardly a more recognizable couple in Hollywood than Will and Jada Pinkett Smith . For nearly 25 years, they’ve been a constant fixture in each other’s lives.
Their relationship has often been a point of contention in the media — and for good reason. Take a look below and check out all the cryptic things Will and Jada Pinkett Smith have said about their marriage.
When Will released his “To The Clique” freestyle.

In May of 2018, Will saw fit to address rumors of his forthcoming divorce in a song. On the track “To The Clique” he raps:
“I could play Muhammud Ali or a white lady probably. Still, twenty years of swag y’all just witnessed. Stop the divorce rumors and mind your damn business.”
Will and Jada don’t say that they’re married anymore.

While making an appearance on TIDAL’s Rap Radar podcast, Will said that he and Jada instead refer to one another as life partners .
If you ask me, it sounds less like a term of endearment and more like a prison sentence.
An assurance from the King himself.
Back in 2015, when rumors of an impending divorce first began circulating, Will took to Facebook and wrote, “Jada and I are…NOT GETTING A DIVORCE!!!!!!!!!!!!! : -) I promise you all – if I ever decide to divorce my Queen – I SWEAR I’ll tell you myself!”
Jada’s ambiguous comments on dissolving marriages.

Back in 2018, Jada made a heartfelt Facebook post about the marriages she said were “dissolving” around her. She remarked that all marriages change and that sometimes they need to “transform” or be reshaped.
When Will compared love to gardening.

“Love is Like Gardening,” he wrote via Instagram. “I have learned to focus on HELPING you to BLOSSOM into what YOU want to be (into what you were born to be). Rather than Demanding[sic] that you become what my Fragile Ego[sic] needs you to be.”
“We are family. Take out all that whole marriage/ relationship crap, at the end of the day, Will and I are family.” – Jada Pinkett Smith/*Sway’s Universe*
I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t be all too pleased to hear my significant other referring to our marriage/relationship as “crap.” It kind of sounds like you’re only sticking it out for the sake of the kids.
Shouldn’t that go without saying?

Jada was once asked by Redbook magazine if there was anything Will could ever do that would make her leave him. She said the only thing that would ever make her consider such drastic action would be if Will hurt the children.
Not an open relationship but a grown one.
Jada wrote in a Facebook post that both she and Will trusted one another to do whatever they want with whomever they choose. She clarified that this didn’t mean that they were in an open relationship but rather an adult one.
What happened that one year?

On Jada’s birthday in 2015, Will celebrated by saying “I have sung happy birthday to you 20 times and I have bought you 19 birthday presents (I was mad that one year).”
Umm…what happened that one year? What did Jada do?
Will’s recent interview with *GQ*.
Will told GQ that Jada never wanted nor planned for what he referred to as a ” conventional marriage .” He said that the examples of loving relationships she had as a child were far different from his own.
The time that Jada told Andy Cohen how she wished that she and Will were swingers.

On an episode of Watch What Happens LIve , Andy asked Jada about the craziest rumor she’s ever heard about herself.
“The craziest rumor? That Will and I are swingers ,” she said matter-of-factly. “That’s the craziest one. It’s constant,” she said, before joking, “And I’m like, ‘Yo, I wish!’”
Divorce was never an option.
During a 2018 episode of Red Table Talk , Will spoke about how much his first divorce impacted his emotional state of mind. Because of this, getting divorced from Jada simpy wasn’t something he would ever allow himself to entertain.
Quitters never quit.
When Will was asked by Entertainment Tonight to comment on his relationship, he said “It’s like our marriage was the most difficult, grueling , excruciating thing that we have ever taken on in our lives. And you know we’re just not quitters.”
The secret to success.
“If there is a secret I would say it is that we never went into working on our relationship,” Will revealed to ET . “We only ever worked on ourselves individually, and then presented ourselves to one another better than we were previously.”
Jada’s entanglement with August Alsina.

When news of Jada’s illicit affair with August Alsina began to make the news, Will and Jada decided to face it head-on. They both appeared on an episode of Red Table Talk and completely brushed the whole thing off — referring to the affair as an ” entanglement .”
