Jada Pinkett Smith Debuts Shaved Head After Battling Hair Loss: 'It Was Time To Let Go'

Jada Pinkett Smith is undeniably one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood. I know, right? Can I win an award for the most obvious statement ever? Did you all hear — the sky is blue, too!

While I could rave on and on about what an awesome actress, mother, wife, and talk show host Jada is, today we're going to be talking about her recent hair transformation!

Jada Pinkett Smith has been a Hollywood beauty queen since the '90s.

Known best for her roles in films like A Different World, The Nutty Professor, The Matrix Reloaded, Gotham, and Girls Trip, Jada has cemented herself as a household name in Tinsel Town.

However, Jada's personal life is *probably* what she's most well known for.

To be fair, she's married to a fellow A-lister and Hollywood legend, Will Smith.

The pair have two children together, both of whom are out making a name for themselves in both the acting and philanthropic world — Jaden, 23, and Willow, 20.

Back in 2018, the mom of two got candid about her issues with hair loss during an episode of her Facebook series, *Red Table Talk.*

“A lot of people have been asking why I’ve been wearing turbans. Well, I haven’t talked about it. It’s not easy to talk about, but I am going to talk about it," she explained at the time.

"It was terrifying when it first started," she continued.

"I was in the shower one day and had just handfuls of hair in my hands and I was just like, 'Oh my god, am I going bald?"

"It was one of those times in my life where I was literally shaking in fear. That's why I cut my hair, and why I continue to cut it," she added at the time.

"My hair has been a big part of me,” Jada continued.

"Taking care of my hair has been a beautiful ritual and having the choice to have hair or not. And then one day to be like, 'Oh my god, I might not have that choice anymore.'"

She went on to explain that her hair loss is a medical mystery.

"I’ve gotten every kind of test there is to have," the actress explained. "They don’t know why."

Although she admitted to being "terrified" to lose her hair, Jada explained that she tried to put her problem in perspective.

“I really had to put it into a spiritual perspective, like the higher power takes so much from people. People are out here with cancer. People have sick children.

"I watch the higher power take things every day,” she explained. Looking at it from that context “really did settle me," she added.

Jada concluded the episode in 2018 by saying she loved her hair wraps — "When my hair is wrapped I feel like a queen. I love having a wrapped head."

Now, the 49-year-old is debuting her new look, inspired by her daughter Willow, who has been occasionally rocking a buzz cut for years now.

That's just one of the benefits of having kids as cool as Willow!

Sharing the pair's selfie on her Instagram page, Willow wrote:

"a gift is pure when it is given from the heart to the right person at the right time and at the right place, and when we expect nothing in return."

Jada reposted the selfie her daughter took, captioning it: "Willow made me do it because it was time to let go BUT … my 50’s are bout to be Divinely lit with this shed."

Friends, family, and fans alike could not get over how stunning the actress looked — such a brave choice to share, and something that so many women can relate to.

Way to go, Jada!
