Social media is a great way for celebrities to connect with their fans, but as we all know, these platforms also have their negative sides.
While disagreeing with celebrities and critiquing them or their work is totally okay, it’s never all right to harass people.
Unfortunately, trolling and harassment got so intense for these 10+ celebrities that they decided to quit social media.
Millie Bobbie Brown
In 2018, the actress was 14-years-old, and she became the center of a homophobic meme saying that she herself was homophobic.
Even though she was barely a teen, she received a lot of hate, and she had to delete her Twitter because of it.
Ed Sheeran
The popular and successful musician had to leave Twitter after he received hate and harassment.
It all started because some Lady Gaga fans thought Sheeran had said something rude about Gaga during an interview.
While things were taken out of context, this didn’t stop some fans from going too far.

The actor received so much hater after acting in Black Mirror: Bandersnatch that he decided to step away from Twitter.
He released a statement on Twitter to his fans thanking them for support, but he also hinted at the constant negativity being too hard to deal with.
Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber has many fans, but he also has some haters. Back in 2016, he was tired of fans harassing his girlfriend at the time, Sofia Richie.
He told fans to knock it off or he would go private, but he ended up just deleting his Instagram for a few months.
Pete Davidson
After Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson ended their engagement, many fans weren’t very happy with Davidson and came after him on social media.
Because of these negative comments, he left. He even told Insider that the internet can be an “evil place.”

Body shaming is a real problem in society, and it’s sad that some people take to shaming others for how they look.
After Azalea posted a picture on vacation, she got slammed with comments about the way she looked.
