Tom Hanks is one of the most beloved celebrities of all time. He and his wife, Rita Wilson, rank highly in the hearts and minds of fans across the globe. I mean gosh, remember when no one in North America even knew what COVID-19 was until Tom got it? It was like a cultural reset.
The actor is notorious for being a nice guy, but recently, he temporarily lost that signature demeanor after his wife was nearly knocked over by eager fans.
If you can believe it, it’s already been 34 years since Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson tied the knot back in April 1988.
It’s hard to remember Tom without Rita, or Rita without Tom.
They truly are the Hollywood power couple blueprint.
The pair share two children together — sons Chet Hanks, 31, and Truman Hanks, 26.
Of course, fans of the Forest Gump star know Tom has two children (daughter Elizabeth Hanks, 40, and son Colin Hanks, 44) from his previous relationship with Samantha Lewes.
By all accounts, Tom is living his best life these days in both his personal and professional life.

He’s currently on a press tour for his new film, Elvis, where he stars as the singer’s controversial manager, Colonel Tom Parker.
However, in a new video going viral, fans see a side of Tom they’re most definitely not used to.
While heading into their private car in New York City Wednesday night, things got tense as fans tried to get a little too close to Tom and his wife.
As a crowd swarms around them, Rita almost gets bumped over by an eager fan, causing both of them to lose their cool.
“Stop” Rita yells as she turns around, to which Tom replied to the crowd: “This is my wife! Back the [expletive] off!”
After a moment of incredibly awkward silence, Tom addresses the crowd again, saying: “Knocking over my wife?”
The fans are equally as surprised and a few loudly apologize as the actor makes his way to his car.
To be fair, I think most husbands would have reacted in a similar way if their wife was almost knocked over by strangers.
