Jessie J has shared another update on her ongoing battle with breast cancer, which she had informed her fans of just a couple of months ago.
She’s canceling her US concerts
The singer, whose real name is Jessica Ellen Cornish, announced on Thursday, August 28, that she’ll be canceling her US concert dates.
She’s also postponing her tour around Europe as she prepares for another breast cancer procedure.
The singer is preparing for another procedure
The 37-year-old mother shared that she’s preparing to undergo another procedure regarding her cancer.
In a statement, she said, “Unfortunately I have to have a second surgery — nothing too serious but it has to be done by the end of this year,” per Entertainment Weekly.
The procedure comes in the middle of her tour
The singer explained, “This falls in the middle of the tour I had booked.”
“I’m so sorry, I feel frustrated and sad, but I need to be better, I need to be healed,” she added.
Jessie further discussed it online
Taking to Instagram, the Bang Bang singer further discussed her breast cancer recovery and the reason she decided to cancel her US concerts and postpone her Europe tour dates.
“As some of you may know, I just had breast cancer surgery eight weeks ago,” she said in an emotional video.
She’s trying to remain present
Jessie J continued, “I’m living in the moment, I’m embracing the moment, and I’m flying with the vibes. That is what it is.”
“I’m spending all my time trying to find time where we can get the venues to make sense again in a slab of time next year.”
Jessie asked her fans to stay patient
“Please bear with us for the US tour. It’s something that I want to do, but when the time is right,” she went on.
“I’m trying to do my best,” the singer shared as she explained that a new music video is still on the way but that she doesn’t have the energy currently to perform across the US and Europe as much as she had hoped.
The singer is trying not to lose control
“I’m trying to compartmentalize all the different things that are happening in my life and where I have to give the energy,” Jessie J added.
“But I have to heal, so forgive me,” she concluded the heartfelt video. Jessie J’s US shows will be automatically refunded and her European shows planned for October have been postponed to April 2026.
She first announced her diagnosis in June
The Price Tag singer first announced her breast cancer diagnosis back in June.
Taking to Instagram at the time, she said, “I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. I’m highlighting the word early. Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding onto the word early. I have been in and out of tests throughout this whole period.”
Jessie wanted to be open about it
She added at the time, “I just wanted to be open and share it.”
“One, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I’m not processing it because I’m working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people, giving me their love and support, and also their own stories.”
