Matthew McConaughey has shared the trick that has kept his marriage with wife, Camila Alves, going strong for 13 years.

In his newly-released book, Poems & Prayers, the 55-year-old Academy Award winner revealed the specific detail that has kept his relationship with his wife going strong.
McConaughey is married to 42-year-old Brazilian-American Camila Alves.
They’ve been married for 13 years
McConaughey and Alves tied the knot in 2012 and share children Levi, 17, Vida, 15, and Livingston, 12.
In his book, the actor revealed one thing they implemented in their bedroom, which has made all the difference for their relationship.
He shared the advice with his fans
McConaughey said that the secret is changing out the classic king-size bed to a smaller, queen-size one.
He wrote, “The best thing you can / do for your / marriage. One way to surely / get ahead, / is get rid of that / king-size mattress, / and sleep in a / queen-size bed.”

The actor also reiterated this in an interview
In an interview published on Saturday, September 20, the actor reiterated to Fox News Digital his view on the importance of having a smaller mattress.
He said, “We have kids and we go to our friend’s house and he has one of these double king-size beds put together and all the kids sleep in the bed.”
It’s different once the kids grow up
The Interstellar actor went on, “The wife’s on one side with her side table, and the husband’s on the other side, and it’s great when you got all three kids, but all of a sudden the kids get too big. They’re out of the bed.”
The actor recalled one incident he didn’t like
McConaughey went on to recall one time when he woke up to find how far away his wife had been from him.
He shared, “Then you go to bed at night, like you want to snuggle up and …’Well, we’ve got to cover you up. Come about 12 feet and I’ll come 12 feet.’”
It was the moment he decided to change the bed
McConaughey remembered thinking, “this d**n king-size bed is not good for the marriage, man. Get rid of that son of a b****h.”
He added, “So we got a queen size where we’re shoulder to shoulder. I’m telling you, it’s good for your marriage.”
