Growing up, becoming a Barbie doll was my ultimate dream. To me, there would have been no higher honor. No bigger sign of respect. To become a Barbie would mean becoming an icon. Unless, of course, you’re Queen Elizabeth II , who is an icon in every single way.
Now, Her Majesty is being honored for her platinum jubilee with her own, limited-edition Barbie doll from Mattel.
As the 96-year-old Queen of England, I’m sure Her Majesty has received every gift under the sun.

Oh, you think your mother-in-law is hard to shop for? Imagine trying to buy a Christmas gift for Lilibet that she doesn’t have already.
Mattel knew the only way they could honor Her Majesty was by creating something incredibly iconic and insanely exclusive.

Mattel did what they do best and created the most sophisticated Barbie doll yet — a doll to honor Queen Elizabeth II’s historic platinum jubilee.
The website description reads: “Barbie celebrates the longest ruling monarch in British history, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, whose extraordinary reign has seen her lead with an immeasurable devotion to duty and a life of service.”

“Reaching 70 years of service, Queen Elizabeth II becomes the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee.”
“This collectible doll wears an elegant ivory gown and blue riband adorned with decorations of order. A stunning crown and matching accessories complete her regal ensemble.”

Well, I don’t know about you but I’m hoping to get my hands on one of these exclusive dolls.
They’re historic, after all!
