Love is Blind contestant Jeremy Hartwell is suing Netflix for some abusive behavior, according to TMZ.
The world of Hollywood can be a pretty hard place to work, whether you’re on a big-budget film, a small indie movie, a show like Game of Thrones, or a Netflix reality series like Selling Sunset . But now, Love is Blind is all anyone can talk about thanks to Jeremy Hartwell spilling the tea.
‘Love is Blind’ star Jeremy Hartwell is suing Netflix.
He said that the show gave the contestants way too much booze and not enough food or water. And definitely not enough money. TMZ obtained details of the lawsuit.
The report reveals that the show forced contestants into needless dramatic situations, especially when they were feeling at their lowest (like when they were hungry o
r drunk). Apparently, water was scarcely found, and it was mostly soft drinks and alcohol at their disposal.
But, wait, it gets worse.
Jeremy also said that producers would even withhold the keys to the hotel rooms to make sure that the contestants were sleep deprived. Hotel staff was not allowed to intervene, or even give them food.
It is due to that, Jeremy believes, that cast members felt like they were not able to be themselves.
The combination of being hungry, tired, and dehydrated changed how they might have otherwise acted.
Even though the show is about making a love connection, Jeremy felt as though he was emotionally manipulated by the show during production.
This means that everything he thought he was feeling might have been false.
Reports say that the money was not worth it either. Jeremy claims that producers paid the cast a flat rate $1,000 per week.
This is while they were working 20 hours a day, every day.
Jeremy is hitting them with civil penalties for labor code violations, but we’ll have to see what happens next.
