Famed Canadian musician Justin Bieber has had to make a series of unfortunate announcements that’s resulted in the postponement of a number of his shows.
The signer first came down with an illness that seemed to only be getting worse, only to be diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome and suffer partial facial paralysis as a result. He seems confident he’ll recover though, sharing his optimism with his fans.
Pop star Justin Bieber has been forced to cancel some upcoming shows.

After contracting an originally unspecified virus, the signer has developed partial facial paralysis.
He made a few posts to his Instagram story earlier this week saying he’d have to cancel some shows on doctor’s orders as his illness was not improving.
Then, more recently, he posted a video of himself.

“I have this syndrome called Ramsay Hunt syndrome and is from this virus that attacks the nerves in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis,” he explains.
He then tries to move the right side of his face, but is unable to.

“As you can see, this eye is not blinking,” he said as he tried to will the right side of his face to move, “I can’t smile on this side of my face, this nostril will not move. There’s full paralysis of this side of my face.”
“So for those who are frustrated by cancellations of my next shows, I’m just physically not capable of doing them.”
He’s clearly just as dismayed as fans are about it.

“I wish this wasn’t the case, but obviously my body is telling me I gotta slow down and I hope you guys understand,” he continued, “I’ll be using this time to just rest and relax and get back to 100 percent so I can do what I was born to do.”
However, Justin has faith in his recovery.
“It will go back to normal, it’s just time and we don’t know how much time it’s going to be, but it’s going to be OK. I have hope and I trust God and I trust this is all going to be OK.”
