John Stamos is showing unequivocal support to Lori Loughlin amid her split from soon-to-be ex-husband Mossimo Giannulli.
Stamos spoke about it on Monday
In an appearance on the Good Guys podcast on Monday, October 20, Stamos reflected on his longtime friendship with co-star Lori Loughlin.
He commented on news of Loughlin’s split from Mossimo Giannulli, which comes after 28 years of marriage.
The actor is pained for her
“I’m just heartbroken for her right now,” Stamos said of Loughlin’s split from Giannulli.
“She’s just devastated. For a girl who has lived her life really well, a good person, a good mother, a good wife — I know all this for a fact — to be thrown into now this separation and, you know, exploding, blowing up her family this way.”
Their friendship goes way back
“I just hate to see her go through this. I really do,” Stamos added of Loughlin.
The pair’s friendship goes way back as they played Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky on the beloved sitcom Full House in the ‘80s and ‘90s.
He tried to be there for her
Stamos went on to say that he ‘really tried to be there for her during this time, and also with the college scandal,’ referring to Loughlin and Giannulli pleading guilty in 2020 of paying to get their daughters into the University of Southern California as fake crew recruits.
He remembers texting her during that time
Stamos recalled texting Loughlin shortly after a press conference of the federal investigation came out, with the actress stating she was unaware it was airing on ‘every channel’.
He added that it was the last time he ‘heard from her for a while.’
Loughlin and Giannulli pleaded guilty in 2020
Back in May 2020, Loughlin and Giannulli pleaded guilty to wire and mail fraud.
The actress was sentenced to two months in federal prison, which she completed in December 2020, while Giannulli received a five-month sentence, completing it in April 2021.
Stamos reiterated that he supported her through it
Stamos noted how he has supported Loughlin through it all, expressing that he believes Giannulli is the reason for her struggles.
“I said, ‘Look, all the negativity or hard hardships that you’ve been through in your life is connected to this guy,’” Stamos admitted.
He feels Giannulli ‘busted her up’
“Whatever he did to her, it busted her up to the core. She put up with a lot over the years of this guy. And again, I’m not going to get into the relationship. It’s not my business. I mean, I know a lot, and I was by her side through a lot of it,” Stamos said.
“She is an angel, and she always made things better. She cleaned everything up. He’s a very successful dude.”
Stamos decided he’ll stop talking to Giannulli
“I will never talk to him again,” Stamos declared of Giannulli. “He’s a terrible narcissist, and I don’t think you ever get out of that unless you’re able to.”
“I pray for this guy,” he concluded.

“I pray that he realizes that what he had was everything that anyone could ever hope for and that he gets some help. I think this guy needs help.”
