Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli have reportedly split up after nearly 28 years of marriage.
It was reported on Thursday
News of the couple’s split was first reported by People on Thursday, October 2, and further confirmed by other outlets.
Loughlin’s representative Elizabeth Much, said, “They are living apart and taking a break from their marriage. There are no legal proceedings at this time.”
They share two children
Loughlin and Giannulli are parents to Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose Giannulli. The actress, 61, and the fashion designer, 62, got married in 1997.
Their split comes six years after having been embroiled in the infamous 2019 college admissions scandal.
They pleaded guilty to it
In May 2020, Loughlin and Giannulli pleaded guilty to bribing their daughters’ way into the University of Southern California as fake rowing recruits.
The pair even served prison time for it, with Loughlin serving two months while Giannulli served five.
It was widely reported on
After serving their time, the Full House alum was released in December 2020 while Giannulli was released in April 2021.
The scandal was widely reported on at the time, having even been the subject of the 2019 Netflix movie, The College Admissions Scandal.
The actress slowly came back to her job
As the scandal died down, Loughlin began slowly finding her way back to acting. She appeared in When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas in 2021, which is a spinoff of When Calls the Heart.
She also starred in the 2023 movie, Fall Into Winter.
She even poked fun at the scandal
Loughlin even went on to poke fun at the widely known scandal, playing a heightened version of herself alongside Larry David in an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm last year.
In her first major interview since being released from prison, Loughlin spoke about the importance of forgiveness.
She’s forgiving and asks for forgiveness
Loughlin told First for Women Magazine in April 2024, “I try to be a forgiving person. I’m not one to hold onto stuff. Stuff happens to everyone.”
“We’ve all been in positions to ask for forgiveness but to ask for it, you have to learn and know how to give forgiveness, too.”
She learned to ‘let stuff go’
“My family wasn’t one to hold grudges. I didn’t grow up in a household where if you made a mistake, you weren’t forgiven,” she added.
“No one is perfect, we all make mistakes. So I was always told to let stuff go. And I think for your own health, you have to let things go because you can’t hang on to negativity. Life’s too short.”
Loughlin also spoke about perseverance
“As an actress, I hear ‘no’ a lot, so I just have to be myself and persevere and try not to let in negativity,” she explained.
“My advice is to just keep moving forward. Everyone has good times and bad times. That’s life. I think you just have to pick yourself up. Nobody said life was going to be a breeze. There’s beauty in life, but there’s also hardship in life.”
