Jenna Dewan gets candid in her new book, “Gracefully You”, about her divorce from ex-husband, Channing Tatum, and what exactly caused her to divorce him after nine years of marriage.
To refresh your memories, Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum announced their split in April, 2018.

After being together for 12 years — married for nine of those years, this news was a difficult pill for all of us to swallow.
Since then, however, Channing has moved on with his new girlfriend, singer Jessie J.

I think we can all agree that obviously, Channing has a type, amirite?
There is a pretty obvious resemblance between Jessie J and Jenna.
Jenna has also happily moved on with her boyfriend, Steve Kazee.

After one year of dating, the pair announced in September that they are expecting their first child together!
This will be Steve’s first child and the second for Jenna, who shares her 6-year-old daughter, Everly, with Channing.

“We are beyond overjoyed and couldn’t be happier to be expanding our family!,” the couple told People .
Anyway, Jenna recently wrote a book called “Gracefully You”, where she gets real about her marriage to Channing, their divorce, and the aftermath.

In an interview with People , promoting her new book, she revealed some of its contents.
She explained that getting divorced was never something she foresaw happening.

“I always say no one gets married to hopefully get divorced,” she said . “I was just gutted. It was so difficult for me.”
“It was the loss of an idealistic future for myself and my life,” she continued. “I didn’t know life without Chan.”

“What does that now look like for me? Where do I begin? I met him when I was 24.”
“The separation tested me in ways I hadn’t thought possible,” she continued.

“I started to wonder if everything I believed in and always talked about was real. Could anyone or anything ever be trusted?”
She said that finding out about Channing and Jessie J took her off guard.

“I was learning things about my ex most people wouldn’t have to face,” she explained .
Thankfully, she seems to be out of the woods!

“Ultimately, now I can honestly say that I’m living in a very joyful new place in my life, and I’m happy about it.”
“And over the internet, as it was happening. There I was, on a plane, alone, finding out about his new relationship.”

“I was blindsided,” she said .
Since her interview, People has acquired extracts from the novel itself that explain what triggered Jenna and Channing’s divorce in the first place.

She apparently reveals that she and Channing mutually decided to separate the night before she began filming Season 2 of World of Dance , nearly three months before they announced their split to the public.
“First and foremost I had to accept the realization this isn’t working and had moved into hurting,” she reportedly wrote.

“I’d come to realize the dynamic I was in wasn’t serving me nor was it serving my daughter.”
Although they’ll always be my favorite couple ever, it sounds like their split was probably for the best.

Channing has yet to make any comments in regard to the latest excerpt released from Jenna’s book, or the claims she has made in recent interviews regarding their divorce.

However, seemingly in response to Jenna, Jessie began posting cute couple photos of her and Channing to her Instagram story.
