Henry Winkler is a living legend, best known for his time playing Arthur Fonzarelli (aka Fonzie) on the classic sitcom Happy Days . But when he isn’t in front of the camera, Henry enjoys getting back to nature.
Recently, Henry decided to Tweet out a photo from his latest fishing trip. It has many people on the internet divided and left Henry’s carping critics eager to make their opinions known.
Henry Winkler is an iconic actor.
Of course, we all know and love him as The Fonz on Happy Days , but younger people might have seen him on Arrested Development or Parks And Recreation .
He is also known for doing a lot of good.

Like when he was raising money for an amazing cause that would have even allowed people to meet him virtually!
He was auctioning off himself to raise money for veterans.
All of the money went to building specially-designed homes for veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan.
He was also sending off signed books to the winners!
So as you can see, this man is often in the eye of the public for good reasons and good reasons only.
But that isn’t the case for his most recent photo.
It definitely left fans divided, so much so that it even caught Winkler’s attention (and ours).
The photo in question shows Henry proudly holding a large speckled trout.
Henry looks perfectly at peace standing in the river and that giant smile plastered across his face says it all.
Fellow nature enthusiasts and hunters alike poured in to congratulate Henry on his fine catch.
But then there were those who took a different stance.
Twitter user @JanetJoiner1954 called Henry out for what she deemed to be acts of cruelty.
Despite what you might have heard growing up, fish do most certainly feel pain . Not in the same way as humans do, mind you — but they certainly feel it.
Other Twitter users observed that Henry’s message seemed to clash with his photo.
Twitter user @BendinahBill wrote, “Somehow a picture of you holding a dead animal you did not have to kill, doesn’t match your sentiments.”
In fairness to Henry, the stream he was fishing in could very well operate under a catch-and-release motif.
One Twitter user even decided to fire back at Henry’s critics with a Tweet of his own:

“Wow. Nobody allowed to catch a fish and eat it anymore?” they joked. “I’m all for catch and release too, but some of you all are crazy !”
Clearly, Henry saw some of the comments under his photo, because he replied to a few of them!
Despite some of the negative comments under the photo, he was nothing but kind to people (as he always is).
And guess what everyone, the fish is still alive and well.
So if it felt some pain (poor thing) at least it got to go back and swim with its buddies.
That fish gets to swim another day.
Now, we want to hear from you.
What do you think about Henry Winkler’s photo? Are people being too sensitive, or do you think they had a point?
Either way, let us know down below in the comment section. We would love to hear from you.
