We love country music , and there are few names in country music more recognizable than Toby Keith, to the point where even famous dogs are named after him . The I Love This Bar singer recently revealed that he has been diagnosed with cancer in an emotional Instagram post that has fans rushing to share their messages of love and support.
Toby Keith, known for songs like ‘American Soldier,’ is a country music legend.
Toby has been nominated for 7 Grammy Awards, and has won 4 American Country Music Awards, 3 Country Music Awards, along with tons of other recognitions for his extensive career including 21 studio albums since 1993. Clearly, he’s a hardworking guy!
Toby recently took to social media to share a health update.
“Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer,” he wrote in an Instagram post on Sunday night . “I’ve spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation and surgery. So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover relax.”
His statement continued.
“I am looking forward to spending this time with my family. But I will see the fans sooner than later. I can’t wait. -T,” he wrote, referencing a potential tour in the upcoming future once he’s healthy.
Of course, fans took to the comments to share their love and well-wishes for the superstar.
“Prayers up for ya, Big Dog!” wrote singer Lance Carpenter.
“Praying over you! May the Lord completely heal you and comfort you and your family during this time,” one fan wrote.
“May our good Lord place his healing hands upon you and keep you in his favor for a full recovery. God bless you and your family,” another added.
