Over the past 30 years, the strength and numbers of the LGBTQ+ community in Hollywood have risen tremendously — thanks largely to trailblazers like Elton John and Ellen DeGeneres.
However, there are plenty more figures who are helping pave the way to changing the paradigm. Have a look below at these 15 celebrities who identify as something other than being “straight.”

During her speech at the Golden Globes, Kate made sure to mention how much of an impact Ellen DeGeneres had on her growing up. She said that “If I hadn’t seen her on TV, I would have thought, ‘I could never be on TV. They don’t let LGBT people on TV .’”
Sarah Paulson
Sarah Paulson has been in a romantic relationship with fellow actress Holland Taylor since 2015 . Still, Sarah prefers not to use labels like gay/straight and instead acknowledges that she is attracted to people as opposed to gender or sex.
Richard Pryor
Richard Pryor was rumored to have slept with several high-profile men, one of whom was Marlon Brandon.
His widow told People that, “Richard wasn’t gay, he just had dalliances. He preferred women over any other kind of experience, but he wasn’t loathed to have those experiences.”
Aubrey Plaza
During an interview with The Advocate , Aubrey admitted that she gave off ” masculine energy .” She said that her female fans are into her and that she returns their feelings of adoration. Aubrey also said that she’s fallen in love with both men and women in the past.

Marlon Brando
