For better or for worse, a lot of conversations in Hollywood are about women’s bodies . While we love to support the journeys that some famous women take to get comfortable and happy in their own skin, like Rebel Wilson has, sometimes, the pressure to achieve results and achieve them naturally can be intense.
Comedian Amy Schumer opened up about taking a different journey to loving herself.
Amy Schumer recently opened up about getting liposuction done earlier this year.

“It’s not about needing to be slamming, because I’ve never been famous for being hot, but I’d reached a place where I was tired of looking at myself in the mirror,” she’d said in an interview at the time.
Amy recently opened up about why she chose to reveal that the weight loss was done through surgery.

“I wanted to share it with people, just because I can’t lie about myself,” Amy said , adding that she “just can’t do it. I can’t be like, ‘Yeah, crunches. And I’ve just been eating smoked salmon,’ you know? So I had to be real.”
“I was feeling bad because it’s, like, such a privilege thing,” Amy went on.
Amy added that she was able to reframe it. “And I’m like, ‘Well, you know, people with money, they also drive nice cars,'” she said. “So, my ‘nice car’ is that I had, you know, a liter of fat sucked out of my belly.”
Amy explained that honesty was important to her throughout this process.

“I just wanted to say that, because if anybody sees me in pictures or anything and they’re like, she looks thinner, and whatever: it’s because I had a surgery,” she said . “It’s too hard, and I just want to be real about it.”
It’s inspiring to see celebrities be real about these situations, and hopefully more will follow in her footsteps!
