Amy Schumer has clarified why she deleted all her photos on Instagram from before losing weight after media outlets speculated the reason.
She shared her weight loss online
Schumer recently shared her weight loss transformation online, and while she’s not the first or last celebrity to do so this year, she’s certainly one of the few who deleted their old photos from Instagram.
Showing off her new body, Schumer shared a series of photos of herself in full glam.
Schumer deleted her old photos too

In the debut post, she wrote in the caption, “I actually left my house tonight. Who’s proud? I’m feeling good and happy. Deleted my old pics for no reason!”
Media outlets were quick to report on this transformation, and speculated why she may have deleted her photos.
She wanted to clarify why she deleted them
The 44-year-old took to Instagram again on November 12 to explain why she removed her pre-weight loss photos.
She wrote, “Hey media outlets I didn’t delete my old photos because they were pre me losing weight. That’s a narrative you created. I’m proud of how I’ve looked always.”
She’s been trying to treat pain
“I have been working to be pain free and I finally am. My endometriosis is better. My back is healing. I no longer have Cushing syndrome so my face went back to normal,” she explained of the effects losing weight on her.
The comedian was able to lose weight on the popular weight loss drug Mounjaro, per People.
She’s feeling a lot healthier now
“I am grateful to be strong and healthy especially for my son,” she said of her 6-year-old son Gene Fischer whom she shares with husband Chris Fischer.
“But your Instagram is not your identity it’s a curation of what you want the world to see and I feel great strong and beautiful and it’s been fun sharing that.”
Schumer claimed she didn’t do it to lose the weight
“I didn’t purposely go on a “weight loss journey” that’s a fine thing to go on. But my focus has been on health. I’m sure my weight will always fluctuate. I’m a perimenopausal woman on hrt meds,” she explained.
She signed off her post
The 44-year-old concluded, “Wishing you strength and self love on whatever path you’re on as long as it’s kind and respectful to all people. No matter their weight race or religion peace!”
