A woman who was concerned about drink spiking recently shared how her Bumble date put her mind at ease with a move that seems like the total opposite of a red flag.
Although there are a disheartening number of hazards that people can experience while trying to enjoy a night out, one of the most serious that many women have reported occurred when someone tried to lace their drinks with drugs .

Since horror stories have seen sufferers struggling to keep conscious before even an hour has passed, it’s easy to understand why it would be so concerning for someone with ill intentions to spike a drink like this.
But while most people would swear they would never engage in such behavior, we never know which of them is lying. That’s why it’s so important for people to protect each other when these situations arise.
And it’s also why one woman is celebrating the guy she recently saw for his innovative and thoughtful solution to these concerns.
On June 5, one woman on Reddit shared how things went with the man she met on Bumble the previous Thursday.
As she told the site’s r/TwoXChromosomes community, their first date saw them get to know each other for about four to five hours before heading to a restaurant together.
And shortly after she ordered a pink lemonade, she felt the need to use the bathroom but didn’t yet know whether she could trust the man around her drink.
While her initial instinct was to cover it with a cloth napkin, she quickly realized that this wouldn’t do much to deter someone who had access to her drink while she was away.
Since the restaurant was only a few minutes from where she lives, she told him she would just wait to use the bathroom once their date was over.
But she would soon discover that’s not something she’d have to do when the waiter stopped by their table.
Because at that moment, her date said, “Hey, it’s our first date. Can you take her drinks and hold them while she goes to the bathroom and bring them back when she gets back?”
And she was so impressed with that simple request that she said her jaw dropped. In her words, “I have NEVER had a guy do that for me before or I’ve never heard of any guy doing that with any woman before!”
She anticipated that others in that community wouldn’t be so impressed, but this wasn’t a move that most of them had heard of either.
And everyone else was just as impressed as she was.
One user said she usually goes to the bathroom between drinks for this reason, while another said, “Even if you don’t end up with him, let him know you appreciate the gesture.”
Although she did do this, it seems that their relationship still didn’t last long due to how he reacted when she tried to communicate a later issue with him.
But while there’s still a lot the man apparently has to figure out about dating, he did come up with one very good idea.
