Although this isn’t something most of us want to think about, there are a lot of people out there who can report cases when someone suddenly started following them.
And as we’ve seen from case after dangerous case , the unfortunate truth is that this is a particular problem for women and young children . Anyone can be the object of someone’s obsession, but those are the most common targets we hear about.
But while some women in unsafe situations have been able to protect themselves by recording their encounters, others have had to risk relying on the kindness of strangers to help keep their stalkers at bay.
And in one fortunate case, a woman happened to walk into the perfect livestream to keep her safe.

JakenbakeLive is a Twitch streamer known for recording himself hanging around major Asian cities such as Tokyo and Shanghai.

And as we’ll see in the full video, one of his travels led him to one street where some music was playing. Among the friends gathered with him was this woman in the purple Twitch hat, who was happily dancing and singing along.
But as one of the people in Jake’s group mentioned, the festivities were about to be cut short once they realized what time it was.
This meant that when another woman suddenly came up to Jake and stood by his side, she had arrived in just the nick of time.

At first, it likely seemed to Jake that she was just a fan, which turned out to be somewhat true as she had seen him at an event before.
But perhaps without realizing it, he did precisely the right thing by casually putting his arm around her soon after she approached him.
Because as she would soon whisper to the woman in the Twitch hat, she was being followed and harrassed by a man in gray.

And once he became aware of the situation, Jake said, “We’re helping save her right now.”
The woman in the Twitch hat seemed particularly prepared for this situation, as she immediately pulled her into a side hug that seemed natural for an old friend. But of course, this was really a means to put herself between the woman and her stalker.
She also intermittently sang along with the song while discussing the situation in English to make it all seem like nothing was wrong.
And this would turn out to be an important strategy as it soon became clear that the stalker was still lurking behind them.

Indeed, Jake became worried that the stalker might hurt him as well since he stood behind him and said something he couldn’t understand at one point in the video.
Nonetheless, he invited the woman to stay with his group once he realized the stalker had been following her for a while.
This led him to suggest filming the man to show him they know what he’s up to, but the woman in the Twitch hat didn’t think this was a wise idea.
To prevent an unpredictable reaction from making the stalker feel cornered, she resumed dancing with the woman while Jake continued arguing his point.
But as we can see about two minutes into the video, the woman in the Twitch hat said, “He’s going, he’s leaving now, he’s leaving now,” soon after.
And while the woman being stalked appeared to be close to tears when the woman in the Twitch hat pulled her into a comforting embrace, she also knew she was safe.
