There’s another baby on its way in Hollywood and this one will belong to The Big Bang Theory’s star Johnny Galecki and his partner, Alaina Meyer.
The couple low-key announced that they had a baby on the way through and Instagram post a few weeks back.
They recently took to Instagram again to share their upcoming arrival’s gender, and they did all with a gender reveal that certainly went off with a bang.
Johnny Galecki, best known for playing Leonard on “The Big Bang Theory”, just wrapped up the series’ epic twelfth and final season.
It’s a good thing that he’ll be taking some time off because he’s got another role to prepare for — becoming a dad! He and his partner Alainia Meyer announced they are expecting a baby. Congrats!
The couple started seeing each other sometime last summer, and it’s been a whirlwind!
The couple sparked engagement rumors earlier this year when they shared a photo of themselves wearing rings, but the post was tagged #notmarried.
News of their pregnancy hit Instagram on May 3rd.
Along with this photo, Johnny posted , “We are absolutely over the moon to announce that we will soon be welcoming a little one into this crazy and wonderful world. We ask that you please respect our privacy during this celebratory time for us and our families. There truly is love out there for all. We hope ours is the ember of yours, as we feel yours is the ember of ours.”
The couple announced their upcoming arrival through their Instagram posts and stories.
We got a sneak peek at their gender reveal party, which took place in a gorgeous garden setting, along with some festive balloon arrangements.
And — surprise! — the couple is expecting a baby boy! So exciting!
The couple shared a few very messy photos that showed them covered from head to toe in blue paint.
I guess they decided to reveal their baby’s gender with a bang. Seems fitting.
The couple popped balloons filled with paint to find out what they were having. The blue paint splattered onto a blank canvas set up below the balloons.
It made for some beautiful abstract art, and we didn’t just find out the baby’s gender…
It looks like Alaina shared the baby’s name, too! Aww, we can’t wait to meet you, Avery Stryker Galecki.

Hopefully Johnny isn’t too disappointed.
Earlier this year on The Talk , Johnny jokingly explained that he wanted a baby girl. When discussing his blue hair dye, he said, “I get a little bored looking exactly the same way for 9-and-a-half months every year playing Leonard.”
“So, we wrapped, and I threw some blue in my hair.”
“Then, I got superstitious that I was, like, manifesting a boy, when I kind of prefer a girl – don’t play this tape for my child years from now. So, I painted my nails pink to try to even out the energy there,” he continued, laughing.
It looks like the couple and their guests had a great time getting messy and preparing to welcome the newest member of their family.
I’m glad they’re embracing the mess because their lives are going to get a whole lot messier once Avery arrives (in a good way).
