1966: Their meet-cute

This couple goes way back into the sixties.

They met for the first time on the 1968 Disney musical, The One and Only Genuine Original Family Band. Unfortunately for Kurt, Goldie didn't feel sparks since he was deemed "too young."

"I was 21 and he was 16," Hawn recalled during a BBC Radio 4 interview.

"I thought he was adorable, but he was much too young. Then, years later we met up again, and I remembered that I liked him very much when I first met him," she continued.

"We both said we would never go out with another actor so it just shows you never can tell."

1983: They reconnect

Sparks finally flew when the pair reconnected on screen for Swing Shift.

Kurt ended up stealing Goldie's heart with a cheesy pick-up line. "The first thing that came out was, 'Man, you've got a great figure.' It came out quickly and it could've gone wrong," he told Conan O'Brien in 2017.

1983: Their first date

The evening started off well: Russell took Hawn to The Playboy Club, where they talked for hours.

But trouble started when they decided to continue the fun at Goldie's new home. Since she didn't have the key to the empty house, they were forced to break in!

“We eventually found our way upstairs, looking around at imaginary furniture," Russell told *People*.

"We were in the imaginary bedroom when the police walked in because we had to break into the place to get in. That was our first date."

Thankfully, they were able to finish their date at a hotel.

1986: Their family grew

The pair welcomed a son together named Wyatt.

Both Kurt and Goldie already had children from previous relationships.

Kurt had a son, Boston, with his ex-wife, Susan Hubley, while Goldie had her kids, Kate and Oliver, from her previous relationship with Bill Hudson.

Since Kate and Oliver aren't close to their biological father, Kurt stepped in to raise them.

For Kurt's 70th birthday, Kate wrote a "insta love letter" to the "wild man" she considers her father, or "Pa."

"Let me fill you in. He's a pick up your boot straps kinda dad. Don't cry, shake it off you’re ok, kinda dad. Don't let 'em push you around you got this, kinda dad," she gushed.

1987: They grace the screen together again

The pair made on-screen magic together when they starred in the cult comedy, Overboard.

In 2017, Goldie said that rewatching their iconic movie after a while reminded her of their beautiful romance.

“You know how sometimes you forget why you fell in love? I remembered everything, and why I fell in love,” she said on The Late Late Show With James Corden.

2007: They open up about not wanting to get married

"We have done just perfectly without marrying," Hawn once explained.

"I already feel devoted and isn't that what marriage is supposed to do? So as long as my emotional state is in a state of devotion, honesty, caring, and loving, then we're fine."

2017: They receive side-by-side stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Who needs a marriage certificate when you have that? “To you, I owe my wonderful life. Simply put, Goldie, I cherish you,” the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 actor said during the ceremony. Aww.

2018 and onwards:

This couple has been by each other's side every step through life. The first grandchild, watching their children achieve success, more grandchildren.

They also graced the screen together once more in Netflix’s The Christmas Chronicles as Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

We've also loved watching them every step of the way <3
