According to Kate’s recent interview with Conan O’Brien, Goldie was way “too open” about her sex life with longtime partner, Kurt Russell.

Kate Hudson has always been super close to her mom, Goldie Hawn.
Goldie gave birth to Kate in April 1979 while she was still married to her ex-husband, Bill Hudson.
To this day, they both have nothing but the sweetest things to say about their inseparable connection.
“As we grow older together, I can’t express the amount of love, joy, laughter and sadness we share,” Goldie once told *Closer Weekly*.
“She understands me, I understand her. We’re girls. We share everything,” she said .
Kate shares in her mother’s sweet sentiments, telling PopSuga r that she can’t go a week without calling her.
One major reason they’re so close is because Goldie raised Kate as a single mother for a while.
Goldie and Bill separated 18 months after she was born, resulting in Kate and her older brother Oliver having an estranged relationship with her father.
After Oliver wrote a post to Bill on Father’s Day, saying, “Happy Abandonment Day,” Bill retaliated.
In an interview with The Daily Mail , Bill said that his two kids were “dead” to him and that he urged his kids to stop using his surname if they wanted no relation with him.
Thankfully, Oliver and Kate found a solid father figure in Goldie’s longtime partner, Kurt Russell.
While the two never married, they are committed to each other. They’ve been together 37 years, after all!
In an interview with People , Goldie and Russell shared why they never made things official.
“You’ve just got to want to be together. I don’t think there’s any way other than do it,” Goldie explained.
“For people like us, the marriage certificate wasn’t going to create anything that otherwise we wouldn’t have,” Russell added.
“I don’t know. 40 years isn’t enough to finally say, ‘Well I guess…'”
But while Kate adores Kurt’s relationship with her mom (she refers to him as “Pa), there are some downsides to this.
Namely, Goldie majorly oversharing about her sex life with The Christmas Chronicles actor.
We guess that’s what you get when you have a best friend relationship with your mom!
While on Conan O’Brien’s podcast, “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend,” Kate revealed that they’ve shared TMI since she was young.
“Sometimes mom will share something with me and I am like, ‘Mom, that is just [too much]. I am, like, ‘I love it and I am here for you, but that is not where I was expecting this conversation to go.'”
While they tend to overshare, Hudson assured O’Brien that her parents are “classy, not crass.”
They also “never hid their issues,” Hudson said.
“If they were having a fight, we knew it. We knew they were going through it and needed to talk stuff out.”
She said that serious issues became a “family discussion rather than a private talk,” she said, adding again that, “Everything was very open.”
During the interview, Kate also described herself as a “worker bee” in school and not a party girl like some people have assumed over the years.
“People have this idea that I was this young party girl but I was super-straight. I did not try weed until I was like 19 or 20 years old,” she said.
Even if she had been a bit of a rebel, we’re sure a cool mom like Goldie would have been okay with it!
