It’s hard to believe it’s been eight years since the world lost one of the most beloved Hollywood icons of all time — Robin Williams. The comedian lit up lives both on-screen and off and truly made people feel like part of his family.
Now, Robin’s former co-star and friend Sarah Michelle Geller is opening up about the impact his death had on her, and why she took a break from acting after he passed.
As fans may recall, Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Geller worked together on the sitcom “The Crazy Ones” from 2013 to 2014.
The show ran for one season on the CBS network and would be Robin’s last ever television role.
Speaking with “People” the “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” alum recalled the effect Robin’s death had on her.
” I’ve been working my entire life. When I had kids — and it was right after Robin passed away — there was just so much going on in my life and I just said, ‘I need to take a break.'”
Sarah has two children with actor husband Freddie Prinze Jr. — Charlotte Grace, 12, and Rocky James, 9.
“I need to be here for these early formative years of my kids’ life,” she explained. “I needed that break to be the parent that I wanted to be.”
About her return to acting, Sarah explained: “I started to really miss it. But it’s also finding the right opportunity, something that speaks to you that also speaks to your audience.”
The Scooby-Doo actress found the right opportunity with the new Paramount+ drama series, Wolf Pack .
Eight years after his death, Robin continues to make an impact on those who loved him.
