Sandra Bullock is stepping back from the spotlight.
The 57-year-old acclaimed actress recently revealed that she will be taking a break from acting. After a few years of major movie success with Bird Box and The Unforgivable, Bullock has decided to take some time to shift her focus from career to family.
The 57-year-old Bird Box actress recently revealed that she will be stepping away from the spotlight and instead, investing her time “in the place that makes [her] happiest."
Since the release of her first two Netflix films, Bird Box in late 2018 followed by The Unforgivable in 2021, both of which garnered a ton of popularity, you might say her acting career has been having a bit of a renaissance — one that many of us were thrilled about!
And her subsequent film, The Unforgivable, also went down as one of the most popular films of 2021, however, and earned itself a position in the top 10 most-streamed Netflix films in history.
That's two record-breaking, history-making successes in just three years.
"If it wasn’t for Netflix, a lot of people wouldn’t be working. Their stories wouldn’t be told," she said, pointing out that in the past, it has proven difficult for women her age to find acting jobs, but Netflix has changed the narrative.
"I would have been out in the cow pasture. It’s true," she quipped.
The mother-of-two recently opened up about her work taking up a lot of her time — "24/7," to be exact.
She joked that she's going to become a helicopter parent — servicing "[her kids’] every need," and monitoring their "social calendar."
