Museums are places for meditation and contemplation where you often get to walk around and marvel at works of art or historical artifacts. There’s one museum in Vietnam though, where that contemplation could quickly turn into giggles.
Some wax figures from the wax museum in Vietnam went viral on TikTok for the supposed resemblance between the figures and the famous personas being not-so-uncanny.
A TikTok user visited the museum

A few weeks ago, TikTok user @SimonsTravelTales went on a trip to Vietnam and recorded a video showing the wax figures they met on the trip.
The user shared three different videos showing the variety of figures at the museum.
One of the videos showed figures from the UK

In the video captioned “British icons… but make it budget!”, the TikToker showed a number of popular British personalities, who sort of don’t look like themselves.
The video started off showing the wax figure of an unusually thin-necked Victoria Beckham, which one user said they thought was Cynthia Nixon.
The intriguing wax figures kept going

When the video moved on to show her husband, David Beckham, he looked more like Ryan Gosling than the footballer, if we’re being honest.
You could then see the wax figure of Elton John, who seemed to have the face of a baby.
Mr. Bean’s wax figure was particularly shocking

When the video transitioned to Rowan Atkinson’s Mr. Bean, it’s only fair to say they got this one the best. One user wrote in the comments, “At least Mr Bean is spot on.”
But his eyes seem to be unusually neon green, it’s kind of giving him the vibes of an alien, really.
Daniel Craig really didn’t look like himself

If this were a guessing game – and the video poster has actually written “Guess the celebrities…!” on the video – I could never have told you that the next figure was of Daniel Craig.
The James Bond wax figure just looks like some guy, definitely not Daniel Craig though.
The TikToker then showed the royal family figures

Moving on to show figures of Kate and William of the British Royal Family, these ones weren’t as inaccurate as the previous one.
But again with the neon green eyes, it feels like the shade is a little off, guys.
People in the comments were in hysterics

Users under the TikTok video found the figures intriguing, with one person writing, “How do they look so much like them but also don’t look like them.”
Another person joked, “I dunno, they’ve captured their essence. I didn’t need to read the captions to know who they were.”
The TikToker also posted videos of American personalities

SimonsTravelTales also posted two other videos from the museum, this time sharing wax figures of famous American icons.
The video that showed interesting-looking figures of Julia Roberts and John Travolta was shared over the sound that goes, “Oh no, oh no, oh no no no no no.”
The video racked up over 1.6M views

These videos went viral on the platform, with one of the two showing American icons racking up over 1.6 Million views on TikTok.
People had a similar reaction to it as well, with one person commenting, “All of them are so close yet so far away.”
Wax figures are tricky pieces of art

It must be said that wax figures are among the most tricky pieces of art, it’s definitely not an easy task to capture someone’s likeness in a sculpture.
But it does add to the fun when the figures are just a little bit off, it’s part of the experience, essentially.
