Influencer couple Stacey Tourout and Matthew Yeomans have reportedly died after a horrific off-roading accident in the British Columbia Interior in Canada.
They died on August 7

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) reported that the couple died on the evening of Thursday, August 7.
Stacey Tourout and Matthew Yeomans ran a YouTube channel called Toyota World Runners, that has over 200,000 subscribers and is where they documented their adventures. The couple also had almost 79K followers on Instagram.
They were found at around 6:30 p.m.

Kaslo Search and Rescue (SAR) confirmed that they responded to a call about a backcountry crash at around 6:30 p.m. local time, per People.
The statement read, “On the evening of August 7 at approximately 6:30 p.m., Kaslo Search and Rescue received a call regarding a serious motor vehicle rollover near Silver Cup Ridge, adjacent to Trout Lake, high in the Purcell Range.”
Two teams were dispatched to help them
The statement went on, “Two ground teams were dispatched immediately, supported by a quad team for rapid access.”
“The team was also able to secure a local helicopter and pilot to assist. Given the potential severity of injuries and the limited daylight remaining, air support was critical.”
Yeomans was found first

SAR said that Yeomans was found ‘with no vital signs’ upon the team’s arrival, while Tourout was ‘found away from the crash site, who was disoriented and suffering from serious injuries.’ This was prior to identifying either of them.
But Tourout sadly passed away afterwards

Despite Tourout being ‘stabilized and flown to Nakusp Hospital’, she then ‘sadly passed away later that evening.’
“The on-mountain SAR team, working with the RCMP [Royal Canadian Mounted Police] and Coroner, recovered the second individual and transported them to Kaslo,” the SAR added.
It was a difficult rescue for the team
Communications Manager for Kaslo Search and Rescue, Mark Jennings-Bates, said, “It was a challenging rescue and recovery for the team after an intensely busy few days.”
“The remote access, high altitude, and limited daylight all added complexity to an already difficult situation. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of those involved.”
It’s unclear why the couple crashed

Jennings-Bates added that he didn’t know the reason why the couple crashed, but suspected a loss of control on rough terrain may have played a role in the tragedy, per the CBC.
He’s also unsure whether the content creators were filming at the time of the tragedy.
Tourout’s mother paid tribute online

Taking to Facebook, Tourout’s mom paid tribute to the couple, writing, “With unimaginable heartache, the families of Matthew Peter Yeomans and Stacey Tourout would like to advise that we lost them both tragically succumbing to injuries in an offroad accident on Aug 7, 2025 in the beautiful mountains of British Columbia that they loved so much.”
The couple got engaged last year
“Please keep us and them in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this devastating end to an amazing Love Story. They are together forever as we knew they would always be,” the mother added.
The couple got engaged in April 2024, according to a Yeomans’ social media where he shared a heartwarming video of him popping the question.
