The Academy Awards are, without a doubt, the most popular award show of the season. Everyone and their mother looks forward to watching Hollywood’s brightest stars dazzle on the red carpet before accepting their gorgeous, bronze, naked man statues.
So when viewers saw that Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker were on the 2022 Oscars red carpet and doing the most , they just had to take to Twitter to vent.

But I’m sure you knew that because…HELLO? They are one of the most famous couples in the world. Whether you like it or not (and a lot of people are on the ‘not’ side).
Kourtney Kardashian and her fiance Travis Barker are known for being VERY comfortable with PDA.
In fact, they’ve been called out multiple times before for their public tongue touches and makeout sessions.
However, the pair have recently ruffled feathers while walking the red carpet at the Oscars.
And before you ask me, no — I don’t know why they’re there, either.
After getting snapped doing their signature tongue-touching on the red carpet, Twitter was unimpressed.
“Girl idk what’s more desperate, this Kourt and Travis PDA or the Oscars for inviting them,” tweeted one user.
“Nothing says, ‘sophistication’ like Kourtney Kardashian sticking her tongue down Travis Barker’s throat on the most coveted red carpet,” tweeted another. “Who invited them?”
Honestly, a lot of people were just confused in general.
The Oscars (and other award shows, tbh) are now inviting a lot of influencers to their shows (remember the most recent Met Gala?)
But whether or not you want them there, the fact is: they are here to stay, and more importantly, always here to make headlines.
But that doesn’t stop people from being confused and mad. Twitter is legit on fire.
In fact, someone did point out that Rachel Zegler deserved an invite way more than either of them.
Because remember, the West Side Story star didn’t get her invite until only a few days ago. Yikes.
“Just when you thought this was a classy affair.”
“Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian show up to shove their tongues down each other’s throats on the red carpet and skank it up. Yuck.” another user said .
“why are reality stars at the oscar’s should they not wait till the after party?” asked a different user.
Sure, I have a lot of questions about why they’re there, but I also want to know why they insist on kissing with only their tongues.
I guess we may never know the answer to either.
