Witnesses at the crash site were horrified by what they had seen, while others were able to capture what was going on. A video The Baltimore Banner captured shows Tom dove into the inner harbor waters and tried recusing the driver.

Jordan Payne, an eyewitness and co-worker of Thomas Walsh, told reporters at the scene that he sadly suffered bruises and injuries from the heroic stunt he pulled.

In the briefly captured video , Thomas could be seen grabbing the driver out from the broken window to get him to safety.

Ms. Payne also added that at the time, the driver didn’t appear to be hurt but was very conscious of his surroundings.

Speaking to eyewitnesses, Mike Malone said he witnessed Thomas pull the man to safety. In his words, “I saw him when he had the guy, he was trying to hold him up, he was trying to pull him to safety.”
Injured Hands

Thomas’s co-worker, Jordan Payne, also confirmed that the heroic acts left Thomas with “busted knuckles.” She said, “His hand is like all the way cut up. His whole knuckles are busted.”
Hospital Visit

Although the driver appeared unhurt, he and Thomas were rushed to a nearby hospital. Luckily, both of them sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
A Case Of Mental Crisis

Law enforcement officers told reporters at the scene that the driver had a mental breakdown during the accident — “Experiencing mental health crisis.”
Suicide Attempt?

Ms. Payne also mentioned to Baltimore Banner that the driver wasn’t making any noticeable attempts to get out of the car. In her words, “He’s not trying to get out, not making an effort or anything.”

Emergency service from the Baltimore City Fire Department arrived at the scene after 4 p.m. and fished out the car from the harbor.
