Below is a list of 10+ actors who lied right to our faces. Every single one of them managed to pull the wool over the audience’s eyes and we were none the wiser.
Movies and television have to go through a lot to keep people entertained, always thinking, and interested.
Which sometimes means things like adding plot twists, effects, or character deaths to make people fall off the edge of their seat!
But sometimes it means going above and beyond that and tricking the audience completely!
And we don’t mean by using clever editing tricks!
We mean completely thinking one thing, and then we found out through behind the scenes interviews that these movies or shows were not always what they seemed!
1. A mostly female cast in *Rugrats*.
Here’s a mindblowing fact: all of your favorite babies in Rugrats were voiced by women ! Even Tommy and Chuckie.
It’s actually more common in animation than you might think.
2. Rachel McAdams’ blonde hair is a wig.
I guess Rachel is very fond of her natural hair color.
Those gold flowing locks we see her rocking in Mean Girls are actually fake! It’s a wig .
3. A Guy by any other name would cook as great.
As it turns out, “Guy Fieri” isn’t his real name (shocker). He was born Guy Ramsey Ferry.
“Fieri” is supposedly the original spelling of the family name.
4. Phylicia Rashad was pregnant.
During the filming of The Cosby Show ‘s 3rd season, Clair Huxtable (Rashad) was pregnant in real life.
Production had to get creative when it came to hiding her baby bump.
5. Toni Collette is an Aussie.
You’d never know it from her dead-on American accent, but actress Toni Collette is actually from the land Down Under.
6. The younger sister is the older sister in *8 Simple Rules*.
On the show, Kaley Cuoco plays Amy’s older sister. In real life, however, she’s actually six years younger .

7. Julia Roberts was photoshopped in *Pretty Woman*.
Who could forget the iconic movie poster for Pretty Woman ? It’s playful, fun, and totally fake.
Marketing chose to photoshop Julia Robert’s face onto another woman’s body.
8. Haylie Duff is the singing voice for Isabella.
That’s right, Haylie and not Hilary. She’s uncredited in The Lizzie Mcguire Movie but she provided the vocal talents.

9. Two different actors voice Jack Skellington.
Whenever Jack is speaking , the dialogue is voiced by actor Chris Sarandon.
But the musical numbers were performed by the film’s composer, Danny Elfman.

The story goes that production wanted Binx the cat to have a more affected accent , considering he’s supposed to have lived for over 300 years.
11. Moaning Myrtle wasn’t a little girl in real life.
According to the books, Moaning Myrtle is 14 years old when she is killed by the Basilisk.
This is a bit of an age gap , considering that actress Shirley Henderson was 35 when she first began the role.
12. Surprise! Dr. Phil isn’t a real doctor.
That is to say, he isn’t an MD . He also isn’t a licensed psychologist, either.
Phil does have a doctorate in psychology, but that’s still a far cry from being able to legally practice medicine.
13. Sister Mary was lip syncing in *Sister Act*.
This one stings. But it turns out that Sister Mary’s incredible song and dance numbers from Sister Act were completely lip-synced .
Andrea Robinson is the voice behind the character in both films.
14. Julie Bowen’s hidden baby bump.
It looks as if the production team behind Modern Family borrowed a few tips and tricks from The Cosby Show .
Julie Bowen was 8.5 months pregnant when she filmed the pilot episode.
15. Elvis was a blonde!
I know it seems hard to believe, but that famous jet-black pompadour was 100% fake!
Elvis was actually blonde and began dying his hair early in his career.
16. The two Dotties in *A League Of Their Own*.
There’s no crying in baseball, let’s just get that out of the way.
There are also two different actresses who play Dottie. Young Dottie is played by Geena Davis.
Lynn Cartwright plays the older version of the character.
This one actually blew my mind.
The two actresses look so similar, I thought it was Geena Davis in makeup for the longest time.
17. Lenny was lip syncing in *The Greatest Showman*.
It turns out that the voice behind Rebecca Ferguson’s character was actually a contestant on The Voice by the name of Loren Allred.
18. Bogey was a shorty.
Humphrey Bogart was a full two inches shorter than his co-star Ingrid Bergman.
To hide their height discrepancy, Bogey had to wear platform shoes and stand on boxes.
19. Leo can’t draw.
At least, he couldn’t when he was filming Titanic .
The topless drawing of Rose was actually drawn by director James Cameron . Such talent!
20. Gal Gadot was five months pregnant filming *Wonder Woman*.
This seems unbelievable but it’s true.
Production even had to do some CGI touchup work to hide her baby bump .
21. Bale is a Brit.
Christian Bale has gotten so good at faking an American accent that people believe he’s the real deal!
When people started to figure out he wasn’t American, they were super surprised.
22. Rami Malek wasn’t singing in Bohemian Rhapsody.
Despite the fact that Rami Malek did a phenomenal job as Freddie Mercury (after all, he did win an Academy Award for it), he wasn’t actually singing!
It’s his voice mixed with Marc Matel who is a great impersonator.
