Yesterday afternoon, Tom Hanks revealed on Instagram that both he and his wife have tested positive for the Coronavirus . As fans, family, and friends send their well-wishes to the Hanks’, Tim Allen also chimed in: “I should have made you wear my spacesuit.”
ICYMI, yesterday afternoon, Tom Hanks took to social media to alert his followers that he and his wife have, unfortunately, tested positive for the Coronavirus.
He shared this photo, with a caption explaining their current predicament.

“Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia,” Tom wrote.
“We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went .”
“Slight fevers too,” he added.
“To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus,” he explained .
“And were found to be positive.”
“Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed,” he went on .
“We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires.”
“Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no? We’ll keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves!,” he concluded .
As the spread of the Caronavirus becomes increasingly alarming to North Americans, this news certainly hit home.
Tom’s announcement quickly went viral, prompting tons of well-wishes.
Marlon Wayan’s kept things light, jokingly suggesting that being the first “Hollywood Caronavirus” is an achievment.
I’m sure at a time like this, Tom and Rita could definitely use a laugh to boost morale!
Actress, Reese Witherspoon also chimed in, urging Tom and Rita to take care of themselves.
My guess is that they are going to do everything they possibly can to beat this thing and nurse themselves back to health!
Jack Black also commented on Instagram, sending his love.
While Tom and Rita are self-quarantining, it’s nice to see that so many of their fellow celebs are reaching out the only way they can; on social media.
TV personality and comedian, Ellen Degeneres, replied to Tom’s Twitter statement.
We’re all rooting for Tom and Rita’s white blood cells to pull through!
“Seinfeld” star, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who has been combatting cancer since 2017, sent her love to the Hanks’ as well.
Hopefully, Tom and Rita make it back home, good as new.
To show his support for his _Toy Story_ costar, Tim Allen took to Twitter, responding to Tom’s original statement.
“Woody, I should have made you two wear my space suits! You and Rita rest and get well!,” he wrote .
He separately tweeted to his fans, letting them know about the message he passed on to Tom and Rita.
“I told Tom and Rita that Buzz offered them a couple of spacesuits if they need them!,” he wrote .
“Seriously rest up and get well!,” he concluded.
I think at this point we could all use one of Tom Allen’s spacesuits. Medical masks don’t seem to be cutting it!
