Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has made one of the most seamless career transitions in Hollywood history. Young kids today might not even know that the Jumanji actor used to be a pro wrestler back in the day. And of course, what I mean by “back in the day” is just the ’90s.
Now, his 20-year-old daughter Simone is following in his footsteps and joining the exciting world of pro wrestling. However, some fans arent thrilled with her newly debuted name.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is known for being an actor, former pro-wrestler, and awesome girl dad.

How this man was seamlessly able to go from fighting in spandex to starring in The Tooth Fairy I’ll never know, but it’s a success story that’s one for the books.
Now, The Rock’s eldest daughter Simone is following in her family’s WWE footsteps.
In case you didn’t know, Simone is a fourth-generation wrestler. Before her, there was her famous dad, her grandfather “Soulman” Rocky Johnson and her great-grandfather “High Chief” Peter Maivia.
The 20-year-old announced she will be going by the wrestler name “Ava Raine” — and while some fans think the name is fabulous, others have made it clear they’re not a fan.
In response to a fan who thought it was disrespectful to give Simone a new name, she tweeted:
“I probably sound like a broken record & hopefully this is the last I’ll mention this but I don’t understand why people being portrayed as separate individuals from their family name is such a heated topic.”
“A name doesn’t discredit any prior accomplishments from any family.”
Following her initial tweet, the WWE wrestler wrote: “I could build my entire career around my father & people would still bash me anyway.”
Simone then joked with her followers after seemingly growing tired of all the “rock” related puns and jokes I’m sure she hears non-stop.
“Nothing in this category please,” she tweeted alongside a Google search of “rocks.”
While I understand why fans would want the family name to continue, I think being the first woman in the family to wrestle means she’s allowed to pave her own way!
