As we all know, there are few celebrities who are as universally beloved as Brendan Fraser and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Of course, Brendan is best known for his roles in a series of ’90s and early 2000’s movies like George of the Jungle, Looney Tunes: Back in Action, and Journey to the Center of the Earth, and The Rock is best known for, of course, making the smoothest career transition from WWE to acting.
Now, the Rock is congratulating his former costar after his comeback film is a massive success in Venice.
However, what many fans may forget is that these two beloved Hollywood icons actually worked together back in the day.
Yep, that’s right. Back in 2001, The Rock joined the cast of The Mummy Returns , the sequel film following the success of 1999 hit The Mummy , starring Brendan Fraser, of course.
The Mummy Returns marked the beginning of the Rock’s career as an actor and most definitely set him up for success.
Speaking of success, as you may have heard, Brendan is having his highly awaited comeback.
On Sunday night, the 53-year-old got a SIX MINUTE standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival for his role as the lead in the new film, The Whale.
Videos of Brendan bawling his eyes out have gone viral in the most wholesome way.
Everyone and their mother was just so happy to see this courageous and talented man back on the big screen (where he BELONGS) getting the praise he so deserves.
Someone who was also happy to see Brendan being praised was his former costar, The Rock.
Retweeting the video, the actor wrote: “Man this makes me so happy to see this beautiful ovation for Brendan. He supported me coming into his Mummy Returns franchise for my first ever role, which kicked off my Hollywood career. Rooting for all your success brother and congrats to my bud Darren Aronofsky.”
I LOVE THEIR BROMANCE!
