When it comes to celebs in Hollywood, there is a small handful who are widely adored, and not very controversial.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is definitely one of those people — everyone loves him, and we can see why!
To say that The Rock has had a few good years would be a huge understatement.
The success of Moana and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle alone are just the tip of the iceberg for his career.
One of the reasons we love The Rock so much, is because at the end of the day, he’s very down to earth.
Like the time he showed off his Moana sales achievement award, accompanied by a golden Razzie Award for Baywatch , basically accepting that his movie was total garbage.
You have to have a good sense of humor if you’re going to survive Hollywood.
He’s very clearly a family man, and proved that yet again.
He shared a video, explaining that he had bought his mom a house for Christmas.
“All our lives growing up we lived in little apartments all across the country. Lived like gypsies on the road from one state to another,” he wrote .
He wrote that he’s always made sure that his mom and dad have had everything they’ll need.
“But the house this time is a special one and the timing is very meaningful,” he went on to explain.
He gave her a card, and told her to treat it like “W***y Wonka’s Golden Ticket”, because she gets to choose any home she wants.
“I always say, if you got a good mama, then you gotta pretty good shot at becoming a decent human being. And somehow, somewhere along the line I became one lucky SOB to be able to make stuff like this happen,” he wrote.
There’s no doubt that watching his mom realize that she was getting a house for Christmas is super emotional.
And I have no idea how he plans to top this gift next year.
I know that most of us can only dream of giving our parents such an extravagant gift.
And I’m sure all of you parents out there are crossing your fingers, hoping that you’ve spawned the next Dwayne Johnson.
Did he make all of us look bad?
Totally .
But really, even though he could more than afford to buy his mom a house, it’s still such a generous act, and a good reminder to treat the loved ones in your life the way they deserve to be treated.
