When I think of the Queen, I imagine tea, biscuits, bright colors, and fancy hats.
I think that’s fair, right?

Some of you might know her as the Queen of England.
But we know her as Instagram’s hottest new influencer, thank you very much.
On Thursday, the Queen visited London’s Science Museum.
It was there that she made her very first Instagram post — which is a huge deal, okay?
Interestingly enough, it was at the London’s Science Museum that she sent her very first tweet, five years ago.
We love a social media queen.
Sadly, we didn’t get a flashy selfie in her orange ensemble.
And she didn’t opt for the boomerang or #OOTD either.
Instead, she shared a photo of a letter on the official Royal Family’s Instagram account.
It was sent by 19th-century mathematician and computer pioneer Charles Babbage to Queen Victoria’s husband, Prince Albert.
For the Queen, going to the museum must be pretty much like looking at a family photo album.
“Today, as I visit the Science Museum I was interested to discover a letter from the Royal Archives, written in 1843 to my great-great-grandfather Prince Albert. Charles Babbage, credited as the world’s first computer pioneer, designed the “Difference Engine”, of which Prince Albert had the opportunity to see a prototype in July 1843,” she wrote.
She signed her post, “Elizabeth R.”
And honestly, that’s too cute. It reminds me of when my grandma texts me and signs everything, “Grandma xo”.
Who knows, maybe the Queen got a little taste of that Insta-famous high and is going to create an account of her own.
I wouldn’t count on her promoting the latest fit-tea and smoothie products, though.
