Alright, so what’s this about a new Wolverine?
There’s no way, no chance that anyone could play the iconic X-Man except the legendary actor Hugh Jackman… or could there be?
Wolverine.

He’s dazzled us throughout the years. On page, on-screen, in video games (Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 springs to mind) and pretty much everywhere else he’s ever appeared.
Like anywhere.
He’s just one of those iconic characters that stick in the mind of comic book fans everywhere.

From his grizzled look to his attitude to his awesome claws and healing factor…
He’s just the man.

Or the mutant!
He’s everything every little Canadian boy wishes he could aspire to be. Not talking about anyone in particular here, just heard that from a friend. Moving on…
He was portrayed in film by none other than Hugh Jackman, who’s one of the most talented men in Hollywood.

He can sing, he can dance (although he didn’t do much of that as Wolverine)…
And he can be badass.

I mean, remember those old X-Men movies?
And even the newer ones, even the ones that people didn’t like so much. There was always one redeeming quality: Hugh Jackman as The Wolverine.
Alas…

He was… oh wait, should probably put a big SPOILERS here, just in case you’re one of the few people in the world who hasn’t seen Logan .
If not, go watch it now.
Good? Let’s go.
Alas… (Again).

He was taken from us in Logan , which although it had a very sad ending, was one of the best superhero movies of all time.
Period. How could you not think so?
It had an R Rating, which was something the bloodthirsty and violent Wolverine was begging for a very long time.

It had some sweet claw murders, it had some awesome action, it was all around magnificent.
The world lost a real superstar that day… Wolverine.

Unless… there could be someone out there who could replace the amazing actor that is Hugh Jackman.
Impossible, yet you should listen to this.
Enter Taron Egerton.

The young man who dazzled audiences as Elton John in Rocketman and in Kingsmen .
There have been rumors floating around that the Brit might take the Wolverine role over in the future.
For starters…
This fan art has been floating around, which honestly looks pretty darn spot on.
And we know that he’s a good actor, so why wouldn’t he be able to take over?
Well…

In an interview with MTV , he addressed the rumors that have been floating around.
At first, he made a joke about it, saying he would need a better “beard game”.
However…

He continued and said that if asked, it would be incredible.
Which probably means that if asked (ahem, Disney/Marvel, Ahem) he would totally be into it.
He continued and said there might be better candidates…
But…

He quickly changed his mind and said:
“Or actually, you know, who knows, because in five years maybe I’d be grizzly enough.”
Spot on, Taron my boy, spot on. Here’s hoping you get the part!
You can watch the interview here.
And honestly, looking at the guy… he kind of does look like Wolverine in those shots, doesn’t he?
Maybe Marvel will get him to play the iconic X-Man, now that they own it…
