Recently, President Joe Biden announced amendments to his proposed COVID-19 stimulus package.
During his campaign, one of Biden’s biggest promises was to deliver a $2000 stimulus to all those Americans who have been affected as a result of the coronavirus lockdown measures.
That number has since been reduced by $600 and Academy Award-winning actress, Susan Sarandon , is making her feelings and opinions on the matter known.
For contextual purposes, Susan Sarandon is an Oscar-winning actress.

Susan has been nominated five times for an Oscar, finally winning “Best Actress” at the 1996 Academy Awards for her revelatory performance in the film Dead Man Walking .
But as inspiring as Susan was/is in the film, she’s probably best-known for playing the terminally ill Jackie Harrison in the heartbreaking family drama, Stepmom . If you haven’t seen it, make sure to have a steady supply of tissues at the ready.
She also happens to be an activist, known for her philanthropy and strong political convictions.

Not only is Susan one of the most well-respected actresses in Hollywood, but she also happens to be a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador . Over the years, Susan has worked tirelessly to advance women’s rights around the globe.
She’s visited Brazil, India, and countless other cities and countries in order to help give a voice to those who are voiceless. Susan also opened a youth center in Tanzania back in the year 2000.
It’s also important to note that Susan backed Joe Biden in the most recent presidential election.

Susan is not a Democrat, nor is she a Republican. For the better part of the last decade, Susan has been working to help legitimize the idea of introducing a third party into the American political spectrum.
Her vote for Joe Biden in the race for president, therefore, was not necessarily an endorsement of his politics but rather “a vote against fascism ,” as the actress articulated via Twitter.
Today, Susan is calling President Biden to account after amendments were made to Biden’s proposed stimulus package.
One of President Biden’s campaign promises was to institute a $2000 stimulus check for all those Americans whose jobs/businesses have been directly affected by the COVID-19 lockdown crisis. Biden has since amended that promise, reducing the amount from $2000 to $1400.
This prompted Susan to accuse the president of pulling what she referred to as a ” bait-and-switch ,” according to comments published via Page Six.
The renowned actress also took to Twitter to publicly call out the Biden Administration.

Susan quotes several statistics (sources not named) that suggest nearly 40% of all Americans have less than $1000 of disposable income on average, and would therefore be unable to care for themselves in a time of emergency or financial crisis.
She also points out that many Americans have lost their health insurance, along with their jobs, and that a difference of $600 in the stimulus could mean life and death.
President Biden sees things differently and claims to have delivered on his campaign promise.

The president has stated that the reason why his Administration’s stimulus package was amended from $2000 to down to $1400 was due to the fact that former President Donald J. Trump had already delivered a $600 stimulus to the American people.
Therefore, the $2000 proposed stimulus includes the $600 that was already distributed back in December — a point which Susan Sarandon hotly refutes.
Susan says that Biden’s retraction is nothing more than a political shell game.

“If voters feel letdown now, just wait until the 2022/24 election,” Sarandon tweeted out to her nearly 700,000 loyal Twitter followers. But in spite of Susan’s frustration and disdain, it would appear that there’s little, if anything, that can be done.
The Senate has already approved measures that would allow President Biden to implement his $1.9 trillion relief fund, even without the support of the Republican Party.
