I want to take a moment to appreciate Netflix and the amazing shows they’ve given us over the past few years. I literally cannot imagine what the past 24 months would have looked like if we didn’t have Tiger King , Queens Gambit , Selling Sunset , Too Hot to Handle , Bling Empire, and, of course, the steamy and spicy drama series, Bridgerton.
However, there was one show that stuck out more than any of the ones I mentioned above, and now, it’s making Screen Actors Guild Awards history.
I don’t think it’s dramatic to say everyone with a Netflix account (or at least, someone else’s Netflix password) was obsessed with “Squid Games” back in October.

The Korean drama series follows contestants who join the “Squid Games” in a desperate attempt for cash. However, when the children’s games they’re playing turn deadly, the massive cash prize becomes all the more desirable.
The survival thriller won over viewers from around the globe, and now, the show is gaining recognition from the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Squid Games landed four nominations, including outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series; outstanding action performance by a stunt ensemble in a comedy or drama television series; outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series for star Lee Jung-jae , and outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series for star Jung Ho-yeon.
Lee and Jung both won in their respective categories, making “Squid Games” as the first non-English-language series and the first Korean series to win SAG awards.

What an incredible feat for these amazing actors. With the series taking home three of their four nominations, it’s safe to say Squid Games will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of fans.
