Mel B, better known as Scary Spice, is an icon . As a founding member of The Spice Girls, she and her fellow bandmates rose to become the best-selling female group of all time.
Recently, Mel was summoned to Buckingham Palace to receive a prestigious award from the Duke of Cambridge. And in true Scary Spice fashion, she decided to not wear any underwear during the event!
The ’90s was an era defined by the rise of the girl/boy band.

As popular as groups like The Pussycat Dolls and One Direction undoubtedly were, they can’t hold a candle to their predecessors The Backstreet Boys and The Spice Girls.
To date, The Spice Girls are still the best-selling girl group of all time.
The Spice Girls reached the No. 1 spot in 37 different countries with their hit single “Wannabe.” The single sold more than 7 million copies, and their debut album Spice World was certified “Diamond” two times over.
Recently, founding member Melanie Brown (AKA Scary Spice), received a prestigious award from the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William.

Mel was summoned to Buckingham Palace in order to receive an MBE , also referred to as the Order of the British Empire.
Mel was given the award for her work as a patron for the domestic violence charity, Women’s Aid.

In an interview with the UK’s The Sun , Mel revealed that she opted to not wear any underwear and was “stark, buttock naked” under her dress.
Mel explained that she came to the decision after a lengthy conversation with her former bandmate, Victoria Beckham.

As it turns out, Victoria (AKA Posh Spice) had flown in all the way from Miami specifically so that she could handpick Mel’s dress.
“Victoria asked me, ‘Will you wear nipple covers?’ I said, ‘Why bother?'” Mel recollected.

When the time came for Prince William to pin the MBE onto Mel’s form-fitting red dress, he asked for a female official to perform the ceremonial act in his stead.
“I didn’t think I had that much cleavage on show!” Mel joked.

Mel then went on to recall the numerous times during her tenure as a Spice Girl when she had the opportunity to meet Princes William and Harry .
“I think William thought I was receiving the MBE for being a Spice Girl, but I told him that it was for my work on domestic violence,” Mel said.

According to the former Spice Girl, Prince William was elated and wanted to hear all about the valuable work she was performing.
Mel admitted that the Prince’s interest was so keen, that their conversation held up the line for the other MBE recipients.

“I told him I had been in an abusive marriage for ten years , which I finally got out of by the skin of my teeth,” she stated.
Prince William expressed his gratitude toward Mel and commended her tireless efforts in helping women escape similar situations.

Once the formalities had been properly attended to and addressed, Prince William then went on to ask the one burning question Spice Girl fans have been clamoring to know.
“Will you get the Spice Girls back together?” William asked in earnest.

“I told him I was having dinner with Victoria that evening and he said, ‘ Oh good, I’ll work on David then ,'” the Prince joked.
So there you have it: a possible Spice Girls reunion tour in the works, and it’s all thanks to Prince William!
