Earlier this week, Shay Mitchell took to Instagram to reveal that she is expecting her second child with her longtime partner, Matte Babel, by sharing a carousel of stunning baby bump photos — nearly outdoing the photos she paired with her last pregnancy announcement.
The Pretty Little Liars star’s announcement comes shortly after sharing the heartbreaking news of her grandmother’s passing, but in an effort to celebrate new life, the 34-year-old shared a lighthearted video revealing how she managed to hide her growing baby bump.

ICYMI, “You” actress Shay Mitchell announced earlier this week that she and her longtime partner Matte Babel are expecting their second child together.
The pair also share their two-year-old daughter, Atlas, whom they welcomed back in 2019.
Before welcoming Atlas, the pair shared some insight on how difficult it was to hide her pregnancy.
“When you’re in the public eye, there are some things you just want to keep a secret until you feel ready,” she said in a YouTube video. “This is gonna be really fun and awesome when I’m not trying to hide it anymore.”
The heartwarming news of baby number two comes shortly after Shay’s beloved grandmother passed away.
“Saying goodbye to a loved one while simultaneously experiencing the joy of welcoming another into this world is the great cycle of life,” she captioned the post.
“It is also my most challenging season to date,” she admitted to her more than 32-million Instagram followers.
“I can’t help but think this was the universe’s plan all along,” she went on , explaining that pregnancy was possibly the universe’s way of helping her cope with the loss of her grandmother.
“Knowing I would need otherworldly joy to cushion the blow of losing one of the most important people in my life.”
She added that the timing of her pregnancy confirms that love and loss can coexist.
“Yet, this is proof that love, life, and loss can profoundly exist all at the same time. Gram, I miss you every day.”
She concluded with a sweet message for her grandmother and unborn child:
“Little one, we are so excited to meet you,” she penned.
“I breathe a sigh of peace knowing you two are already connected in such a cosmic way,” the soon-to-be mama-of-two wrote.
Not long after the unveiling of her second pregnancy, Shay shared a TikTok revealing how she managed to hide her growing baby bump in recently shared Instagram photos.
With a little bit of sucking in and strategic use of angles, Shay was able to conceal her pregnancy.
The clip shows the actress posing in a beige blazer and matching bra — not looking visibly pregnant at all.
But it was entirely an illusion.
After pushing the blazer out of the way and turning to the side, she looked very much like an expectant mother.
“How would they know,” she captioned the video, referencing the popular TikTok sound. “No more sucking in,” she added.
