Here we go folks, we’re going to talk about Seth Rogen in The Lion King . These are words my 2009 self thought I would never say, but 10 years ago sure is a long time, isn’t it?

That was the opening to The Lion King . I figured it would fit pretty well in my opening of an article about The Lion King . Then again, this is the remake, so maybe I should’ve written it in 4K HD extra polished animation font. Nah, I couldn’t afford it.

So yeah, there’s a new Lion King movie coming out.
And we couldn’t be more excited for this live-action version of the iconic animated picture that came out eons ago. Back when times were simpler, back before the internet was invented.
The far off year of… 1994.
Wow! I was merely a glint in my father’s eye, Jurassic Park was the highest grossing movie of all time and no one had even heard of an Iron Man movie. Yes, truly a simpler time.
But now, we get Jon Favreau’s version.
It’s live action… ish, and it’s by the same guy who did the original Iron Man , because apparently Jon Favreau is trusted by Disney to make all their franchises successful.
And the hype has been tremendous.
People can’t wait for this new movie to come out. I mean, they’re practically off the walls to see this awesome star-studded cast which, mark my words, is studded with stars.
The cast includes:
Donald Glover as Simba, Queen B Beyoncé as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Jon Oliver as Zazu, Eric Andre as Azizi, James Earl Jones returning as Mufasa and many, many more.
Two of the names people are most excited for are Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen.
Who play the now iconic duo of Timon and Pumbaa. They sing that one song… you know, the one about no worries for the rest of your days? That’s right, of course, it’s “Hakuna Matata”.
So a couple of nights ago, Seth Rogen goes on TV.
Specifically, The Late Late Show with James Corden. He’s on there with Charlize Theron to promote his new romantic comedy The Long Shot . Which I can only assume is a sequel to The Longest Yard .
Charlize Theron then trashes her own singing (and apparently her budding alcoholism).
This leads James to ask Seth Rogen about his own singing, considering he’s going to be singing at least one song in this new adaptation. Notice how I said at least, because I don’t know if they’re adding new ones or anything.
James asks if he’s nervous to sing.
And Seth replies that he did it already and that yes, he was in fact horrible. Well, it turned out well, but for him personally, apparently it was a nightmare.
And it was really scary. And really intimidating.
The whole cast apparently had to sing in the same room together, which means he was supposed to sing in the same room as professional singers. Which ones, you ask?
Well, Donald Glover, for one.
Also known as Childish Gambino, who is, oh, I dunno, one of the greatest performers of our generation. I mean, have you heard Redbone? I’m going to link it in this segment just in case you haven’t.
And, oh yeah, a little unknown singer by the name of…
Beyonce. Queen B. One of the greatest voices of our generation. The most powerful woman in all of show business. The woman who run the world. She’s also part of the Illuminati. I could go on.
So yeah, no wonder he was nervous.
He thought he would at least be funnier than her, but then he remembered Austin Powers: Goldmember and realized that even that might not be true!
Don’t worry Seth, we all feel lesser than Beyoncé.
