Weeks after Todd and Julie Chrisley started serving their prison terms for tax evasion and fraud, their daughter Savannah Chrisley shared how she is coping. From the look of things, the TV star is having a hard time handling the care of her much younger siblings.
How Savannah is Navigating Life After Her Parents’ Sentencing
The Chrisley Knows Bes t star stepped into the role of parents for her younger sibling, Grayson, 16, and Chloe 10, in the absence of their star parents. However, it has been quite a struggle to come to terms with her new reality and also deal with her emotions. Savannah had a full breakdown on her show while discussing their new normal.
She Explained Her Ordeal
On her Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley podcast, the 25-year-old recalled a conversation she had with her father on the issue of taking over as a caregiver for her siblings. She noted how Todd told her it was “going to be the hardest, but most rewarding thing” she had ever done.” Savannah shared that she was starting to comprehend what her dad meant.
Savannah Said She’s Now At Peace
The reality star explained the different levels of emotions she went through to come to terms with her situation. She recalled just sitting in her podcast chair thinking of how angry she was “at God.” The star noted how she questioned God about the things that had happened to her family. Despite going through that mental state, Savannah relayed that she is now “in a place of such peace.”
Savannah Shared Her Perspective On Raising her Siblings
The entertainer stated her approach to raising Grayson and Chloe. Savannah noted that what they needed was “peace and calmness.” She noted that she and her siblings needed “healthier ways to cope with things and deal with things.” She stated how she was neither their dad nor mom, and was trying to remain their sister even as she stepped into the parenting role.

She Is Still Grieving
Even as Savannah is finding the strength and willpower to parent her younger siblings, she still thinks about her parents’ situation and grieves the “loss.” She noted that she was grieving their loss and a life she used to know. Savannah mentioned that after visiting Todd and Julie, she knew what she and her family’s purpose would be when they got out of the current upheaval.
On Having A ‘Full-on” Breakdown
The eldest Chrisley child recalled the moment she let go and poured out her pent-up emotions. Savannah shared that she had “a full-on breakdown.” She recalled how she had been helping Chloe find proper clothes to go visit their parents as well as do her hair. While going about this activity, Savannah could not help but feel overwhelmed. She was lost in thought, concerning how she would pull through. The TV personality stated that she also felt worthy and incapable.
Her Efforts Are Appreciated
Even as Savannah feels she struggling to keep up, her younger sister, Chloe is quite appreciative of her efforts. She noted that a day after her breakdown, Chloe told her she was doing “a pretty good job.” She added that the pre-teen was happy her sister cooked for her.
Todd and Julie Are At Peace
One thing that turned Savannah’s mindset around was seeing her parents go through the ordeal, and stay at peace. She noted how Todd shared that for the first time in his life, he felt a level of peace he had never felt before.
They Are Working On An Appeal
Todd and Julie are serving their respective jail terms but are far from giving up. Following their convictions, the TV stars were vocal about filing an appeal as well as holding on to their faith in God.
