Little Richard has, unfortunately, passed away at 87.
It is a truly sad day for the world, especially his family and friends.
The rock and roll world has lost a great human and musician.
Little Richards was a rock n’ roll icon.
One of the original Founding Fathers of Rock n’ Roll has passed away at the age of 87.
Little Richard was known for his incredible stage presence, high pitched shrieks, and his incredible piano playing.
He’s the man behind hits like ‘Tutti Fruiti’, ‘Good Golly, Miss Molly’, and of course ‘Long Tall Sally’.
In the mid-to-late 1950s, Little Richard was releasing hit after hit. At that time no one had ever seen an act quite like Little Richard’s.
Little Richard was an inspiration not only to his fans, but for a generation of musicians as well.
Little Richard helped launch the careers of countless musicians. He was an inspiration. Elton John has gone on record as saying:
“I didn’t ever want to be anything else. I’m more of a Little Richard stylist than a Jerry Lee Lewis, I think. Jerry Lee is a very intricate piano player and very skillful, but Little Richard is more of a pounder.”
Richard was known for his raucous stage presence, as well as his androgynous makeup and wardrobe.
Before Little Richard , there was no such thing as showmanship in Rock n’ Roll. Great musicians like Freddie Mercury, Elton John, and Prince all owe their inspiration to Little Richard.
In 1986, Little Richard received the prestigious honor of being inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame.

“He has made an important contribution to our musical culture and history.”
That would be an understatement, to say the least.
RIP.
But you’ll probably recognize him from his cameo in *Full House*.
Richard played the role of Denise’s uncle (as himself). When Joey was running for the PTA, Little Richard performed at his benefit show.
Today the world mourns together as we remember a fallen legend, icon, and friend.

I know it’s almost redundant to say at this point, but 2020 seriously just needs to end.
