The Smith family’s relationship has been cause for speculation for quite some time, and since the Oscars last month, it’s been under the public eye more than ever.
So it’s unsurprising that people are digging up clips of past interactions between Jada and Will, including this one from an Instagram Live Jada had some time ago.

The resurfaced clip made its way to the r/PublicFreakout subreddit, and has made its way around the net.
In the clip , Jada points her camera to Will’s face, telling him that Esther Parel was coming to the Red Table Talk.
She then asks Will, “Would you say she has been instrumental in you and I redefining our relationship?”
At this point, it’s apparent that Will is annoyed, as he tells his wife that she shouldn’t be filming him without his permission.
As he says, his social media brand is part of his livelihood.
He states is his “bread and butter,” telling Jada that she can’t just start rolling. At this point, Jada turns the camera to herself, looking visibly annoyed.
In fact, she’s annoyed throughout the entire exchange.
Throughout the 49-second clip, Jada sounds exasperated, saying things like, “Here we go,” as Will expresses his annoyance toward her questions. She ends the video by telling people to watch Perel on Red Table Talk.
“Please watch Esther at the Red Table because she’s helped us a lot. Can’t you tell?”
Needless to say, the entire exchange is awkward and uncomfortable, both for the viewer, and seemingly for the couple.
Commenters pointed out how uncomfortable the exchange is, too.
They responded with sympathy toward Will, while seeing Jada in a more negative light.
“It’s like he’s responding to a weird fan harassing him. It’s so uncomfortable to watch,” one user said.
Many began to speculate the unhealthy nature of their relationship.
Another user wrote, “Damn, she talking about fixing the relationship while she [expletive] on him. He gave a boundary and instead of acknowledging it, she dismisses it by calling him foolish.”
This is all in the light of the Oscars scandal last month.
During the 94th Academy Awards on March 27th, Will Smith came under fire after slapping Chris Rock for making an insensitive comment about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
Of course, you can’t jump to any conclusions from a single clip.
Even if this clip from several years ago shows a different side of the couple, it’s difficult to tell the nature of their relationship from a 49-second exchange.
If anything, it just shows that this situation is much more complicated than it appears.
As the weeks pass since the Oscars incident, there’s bound to be more and more people digging up clips that show the Smiths’ complicated relationship.
