Priyanka Chopra Shuts Down Journalist Asking If She Was ‘Qualified’ To Announce Oscar Noms

Move over, Chrissy Teigen ! There’s a new clapback queen in Hollywood and her name is Priyanka.

The Quantico actress aptly shut down a reporter who dared to question whether she was qualified to announce this year’s Oscar nominations.

In addition to shutting down his criticism, sis had receipts! Come see what she had to say.

Priyanka Chopra is no stranger to controversy.

The Quantico star has a history of tastefully clapping back at those who dare come for her.

This includes the time she fired back at those who said that she overshared about her 2018 wedding to Nick Jonas.

To be fair, if we married Nick, we’d be sure to document it all over social media, too!

The actress addressed these haters during her interview with The Sunday Times .

“If I wasn’t a famous person and I’d just got married, don’t you think my Insta would have photos of me and my husband?” she said.

She also goes to bat for her friends, like the time she defended close pal, Meghan Markle, on *The Wendy Williams Show*.

“You’re friends with Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s girlfriend? Wendy had asked .

To this, Priyanka came back with the classiest reply, saying, “Also Meghan Markle, actress, Suits, her achievements. Just saying.”

With fierce clapbacks like these, she has garnered quite a bit of hate over the years.

She’s even been called “Bollywood’s most hated women.”

“I believe I’m interested and that’s why I get spoken about,” she told GQ about the unflattering title.

She continued by saying:

“I think the gossip around me is a result of the fact that I’m a very private person. I just won’t discuss my personal life in the media.”

Each celeb has to do what works for them!

She spoke to *Marie Claire* about how she manages to keep her cool during these attacks.

Which, as you can imagine, can be very hard for a celeb to do at times.

“I am just like everyone else,” she told Marie Claire .

She continued:

“In the morning when I’m driving to work or I’m having my coffee, I’m flipping through Twitter, Instagram, the news, and when my name pops up, I’m like, ‘Alright, what are people saying? How are we feeling?'”

“I just don’t react to it or let it affect my mental well-being,” Chopra continued.

She explained that adapting is something she earned from her parents.

“Adapting was something I learned very early on because my parents moved so much. Every two years, we were in a different city.”

Now, the actress has been forced to defend herself again.

This time, to a reporter who asked whether she and husband, Nick Jonas, were qualified to announce this year’s Oscar nominations.

“No disrespect to these two but I’m not sure their contribution to movies qualifies them to be announcing Oscar nominees,” Australian journalist, Peter Ford, shared in a tweet.

Priyanka responded to the criticism on social media.

“Would love your thoughts on what qualifies someone,” she wrote.

That wasn’t all. Sis had RECEIPTS of her acting background by sharing a video scroll of her IMDB page. “Here are my 60+ film credentials for your adept consideration.”

It should also be pointed out that Nick has an impressive resume.

He got his start on Disney’s Camp Rock and Jonas show with his two brothers before moving onto bigger projects.

This includes the Jumanji franchise, alongside Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart.

After Peter’s tweet went viral, the couple had many fans come to their defense.

“Priyanka has been in the entertainment industry for 20 years and she’s an awards winning actress and producer, her film “the white tiger” which she produced and starred in scored an oscar nomination today!” this fan wrote .

The actress even shared that announcing the nomination for *The White Tiger* made the honor all the more special.

“We just got nominated for an Oscar! Congratulations Ramin and team #TheWhiteTiger. Somehow announcing the nomination myself made it so much more special. So so proud,” she shared on Instagram.

“Pretty sure you’re living under a rock!” this fan wrote in response to the reporter.

“So Priyanka Chopra does not qualify because you think she hasn’t contributed to movies? Hmm, okay,” added another .
