Princess Charlotte just started school and the burning question on everybody’s mind is “will teachers be using her royal title?”
It seems a bit extreme — but she is a princess, after all.
Princess Charlotte is following Prince George’s lead, joining him at Thomas’s Battersea private school on Thursday morning.
It costs $23,000-a-year each for Princess Charlotte and Prince George to attend. Yikes.
And fans want to know if teachers, school faculty, and other students will have to address the students by their royal titles.
In virtually every other scenario anyone would have to address any royal by their royal title.
Now you might be wondering, what last name will she be using?
Great question.
“Princess” would probably sound overly formal, she will most likely take after her brother, going by the last name “Cambridge”.

It only makes sense that Charlotte, George, and eventually Louis, use “Cambridge” as their last name.
Seeing as their father and mother are the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably wondered what the official royal surname actually is.
Surely, their real last names aren’t actually “Wales” and “Cambridge”, amirite?
Technically, the royal family’s surname is, “Mountbatten-Windsor”.
Charlotte’s newest cousin, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son, Archie Harrison, will more than likely make that his given name, as he does not have a royal title.
And Charlotte’s teachers and classmates will be dropping the “princess” are welcome to just call her “Charlotte”.
Or, if you’re lucky, you can start using Charlotte’s nickname that Kate recently revealed to fans, “Lottie”.
“Your highness” won’t be necessary!
So, officially, she will be known as “Charlotte Cambridge”.
In school, Prince William went by William Wales and Prince Harry went by Harry Wales — as their father, Prince Charles is the Prince of Wales.
Interestingly, on George’s first day of school back in September, 2017, only Prince William was there to drop him off.
While Kate was originally expected to join them, she was stuck at home with morning sickness while she was pregnant with Louis.
But all’s well that ends well! George loved his new school and has been thriving there ever since.
A source told People that George is “very happy at his school” and his favorite class is “ballet” which he started taking in year one.
Either way, Charlotte is very lucky to have such an extensive support system as she embarks on her academic journey.
“She can’t wait to be with George at big school,” a source told People .
“She is so excited about it all,” the source went on.
“They are close in age, and they spend so much time together”.
And now they’ll be spending a whole lot more time together!
The source revealed that it has been difficult arranging for the children to play with other children outside of the royal family, so they often just play with each other.
They seem to have an ideal sibling relationship, considering they can actually get along long enough to have playdates — which is more than I can say for most siblings.
“Playdates [with outsiders] can be tricky, so they learn to lean on each other,” the source explained.
